Chapter 18

Savannah POV

I spoke to Julia. We laughed, and she told me about all the drama with my ex-mate and I told her how he rejected me, and I accepted the rejection. She was saying how strong I was because I didn’t even look like his rejection had any effect on me at all. I told her that when he first said the words it had hurt and felt like someone had torn my heart out, but I wouldn’t give him the satisfaction to see that his rejection had hurt me. Once I accepted his rejection and I saw him crumble, I had to leave before he got up, so I ran. I also told her I was of Alpha blood and that’s why I never submitted to any of them, and she wasn’t surprised at all. She even asked if I would accept her and her siblings into the pack once I established it again. I told her she was part of my pack. That is why Emmett had gone back for them. She cried, and I told her not to cry. I told her that everything would work itself out.

After my talk with Julia, who is going by Jade here, I went back downstairs, and I heard Dahlia say, “Father is on his way, even after I told him it wasn’t necessary and he’s bringing the royal guards. Vannah, come on in and join us. This concerns you too,” she said when she sensed me. “I didn’t mean to disturb you, I was just going to get some water and head to bed, so I can wake up early,” I said. But sat down across from her. She took a deep breath and said, “as you heard me say, our father is coming and, well, he’s the vampire king of the south. No, he’s not like the vampires of the past that hated other species, but he’s coming for two things, to make sure we're safe, and he wants to taste your blood to see your memories and maybe finally get revenge over the Stormbreaker Pack.” I didn’t know what to say to that, but I asked if I could think about it till morning. She agreed, and I got up, went to the kitchen to get a water bottle, then headed back up to the room to get in bed.

In the morning, I woke up and headed downstairs. As I was about to grab a cup of coffee, Dahlia walked in and poured two cups and handed one over to me and said. “Thank you for making the coffee. Training today has been cancelled. Everyone in town has heard the Vampire King is coming.” “You don’t seem to be happy to see your father, Dahlia.” “It’s not that I’m not happy to see him, he just wishes I was more like my older siblings and acted like a princess. I never wanted the crown and when I got my first chance to leave the palace, I took it and I left. Diego followed because we always did everything together him finding his mate was the first time we didn’t share and do everything, but he chose to stay here with me,” she said, sounding a bit sad.

It’s been 5 days since I left the Stormbreaker pack and Emmett brought me to what I’ve learned is called Rowena Texas. Which is fitting since it's named after my great-great aunt Rowena. I have even met some of my relatives from her line. Most have strong auras, just no wolf, but they have the capability of turning if they have a wolf for a mate. Emmett’s siblings have also arrived in town and have rented the house next to Dahlia’s house. Even though Dahlia said there was more than enough space, they felt better having their own space. Today at the restaurant I saw everyone, and they were all a bit on edge because the Vampire King Demetrius is set to arrive this afternoon. Dahlia just seems annoyed, but I don’t know why, but I’ve learned that if she wants to talk about it, she will. While eating lunch with Jade, Arielle, and Luther, Tristan came over and asked if he could join us. I told him to have a seat and asked him how his day was going. He laughed and said, “I’m okay, just wish we could have been training, but since the Vampire King’s visit had been announced no training has been held for 3 days.” “Well maybe this afternoon we’ll train some after he arrives,” I said to him. He looked at me and said, “yes, let’s hope we can. I totally want a rematch.” I laughed and said, “you mean you want to get laid out again.” Everyone at the table laughed and Tristan looked like he wanted to reply but didn’t get a chance before everyone around the restaurant started getting up and heading outside, which meant the Vampire King had arrived. What I didn’t expect was to see all the supernatural Kings and Queens show up along with him.

Dozens of SUVs and luxury cars showed up in town and guards stepped out of vehicles and opened doors for the Kings and Queens to step out. The first was the Vampire King Demetrius and his beloved Vampire/werewolf hybrid, Dalilah. Second stepped out the Elf King Noel and the Elf Queen Olivia. Third stepped out the Werebear King Arlo and the Werebear Queen Adalena. Then stepped out the Werewolf King Elijah and the Werewolf Queen Emiliana. Then the Werecat King Brody and Werecat Queen Bethany. The Angel’s Gabriel, and Cordelia. Finally, the Witch King Ari and the Witch Queen Tabatha.

Being there when all these supernatural Royals arrived, I was surprised, but I realized that there were other supernatural Royals that hadn’t arrived, but I had a feeling they would either arrive later or another day. The first thing all the Royals did was greet each other and ask how they had been. Then they greeted everyone in the town. When they got to me, they all looked like they had seen a ghost. Which they only realized they were staring because Dahlia Emmett and Tristan stepped in front of me even though I’m capable of defending myself. They all apologized and asked if they could speak to me somewhere privately. I asked Dahlia if we could use her conference room in her house. She agreed that we could, and we all followed behind her. I asked Emmett to come as well as Tristan. They both agreed and followed behind me. While we walked back to Dahlia’s, I could hear the whispers of some of the others worried that it was something serious. They never singled out anyone to talk to when they came, which is some of what I heard. I wouldn’t let it worry me or get to me. I held my head up while walking behind Dahlia. When we entered Dahlia’s conference room, all the kings held our chairs for their queens to sit, then they sat down. One King was going to object about Emmett, Dahlia and Tristan, but I spoke first, “they are my council till I get back my pack and find my Beta, Delta and Gamma.” They may not have liked it but didn’t object after that.

King Demetrius was the first to speak and say, “Savannah, I’m happy that you are alive but wish we could have spared you the pain and loss you’ve had to endure in the hands of the Stormbreaker pack.” I didn’t say anything to that as I didn’t want to show that I was really affected by it or show weakness in front of these Kings or Queens. He asked me if I knew all of my real history and I, of course, said no, since when I was taken to Stormbreaker I wasn’t allowed to continue my education but learned things on my own with the help of Emmett. If Emmett hadn’t helped me and taught me, I would probably only have a 3rd or 4th grade education. All the Royals seemed to bristle at that, especially King Elijah and Queen Emiliana. I could feel that everyone was about to start attacking the Werewolf King and Queen, so I spoke up, “the Stormbreaker Pack was always good at keeping up appearances when they knew envoys of the royal pack were showing up or when the Annual Alpha meetings were held. Whenever the Alphas were scheduled to show up, they would make sure omegas that were unhappy were kept either in the dungeon or threatened and, well for me, I was kept in the Alphas' secret safe room, which is soundproofed. No one outside the top families knows about it, but I know about it because it was the only place they kept me when they knew other packs were showing up. They were afraid if they kept me in the dungeon with other pack members I would rally them against them because I never submitted to them.” That seemed to calm them down, but they all still seemed upset.
