Emmett POV
We’ve been back to Rowena a few days and the Vampire King is set to be arriving today. I have noticed that Vannah has gotten close to the young werebear Tristan, and it has me thinking of a prophecy I heard of once, but I can’t seem to remember it at all. I just hope she keeps in mind she may have a second chance mate out there. Before I could walk over and try to make sure she understood that everyone started walking outside.
It seems that almost all the supernatural Royals had showed up along with the Vampire King. They all stepped out and greeted each other and then the people in the town. When they got to Vannah, they all looked like they had seen a ghost for a minute. Instinctively, I stepped forward to protect her, and I noticed Tristan and Dahlia did the same thing. That is when they all seemed to notice that they hadn’t spoken yet. They all apologized and asked to speak to her somewhere privately. She nodded and asked Dahlia if they could use her conference room in her home. Dahlia asked them all to follow her, and they did. When Vanna turned to follow, she asked both Tristan and me to also accompany her. Neither one of us hesitated. We followed closely behind her.
When we got to the conference room and all the Kings and Queens were seated, one of the Kings seemed to want to object, but before he could, Vannah spoke up, “they are my council until I get my title and reunite my pack and find my Beta, Delta and Gamma.” The King still didn’t seem to like that we were here but said nothing else about it. They began questioning Vannah about her real history which, unfortunately, she did not know it. She spoke up and said, “unfortunately I do not know my history. If it wasn’t for Emmett, I would only have a 3rd or 4th grade education. He trained me and taught me what he could in secret.” She also explained about the way the pack kept her a secret which I never really knew of, but if I had, I would have got her out of that pack long ago. When I felt that the Vampire King was about to ask Vannah for a vial of her blood, I spoke up and said, “If I may interject your majesties, I know that you all have questions for Vannah, but I may have some of those answers,” I had asked Dahlia draw it this morning since she had told me Vannah still wasn’t sure if she would feel comfortable giving her blood. He took the vial of my blood while I spoke, “that should give you some answers, since blood doesn’t lie.” King Demetrius took it and drank it and seconds later he looked at Vannah with an expression we couldn’t quite decipher. He then spoke to Dahlia while still looking at Vannah, “Dahlia, can you all excuse us, I must discuss with the other Kings and Queens of what I learned from this young warrior's blood memories.” We stood and left the conference room to sit in the living room and watch a little bit of TV.
While in the living room, Tristan asked, “what do you think is going to happen now.” Vannah looked over at him and said, “honestly Tristan, I don’t know, I know that I’m not ready to become Alpha of my pack, but the truth is I doubt I ever will be, but I know my pack is scattered and if they want to come back I will accept them and hope to be the leader they deserve. As far as the Royals, they seem to care, but only since I’ve heard rumors that a lot of packs are being threatened by Alpha James. They don’t know that his threats are meaningless, since his son can’t shift, and his wolf Dante won’t allow him to. I also know that if it comes down to it, I’ll head to my packhouse to keep the town safe.” “You say you’re not ready, but by the way you just spoke, you are totally ready to be an Alpha Vannah,” Tristan said. “I agree with Tristan you are going to be a great Alpha Vannah,” I said to her. She thanked us both, and we continued to watch TV while Dahlia looked pissed and worried at the same time while she paced behind the couch.
