The week seemed to go by pretty quickly for Andrea. It was now Thursday and she was getting ready for what the weekend would bring. Most weekends She had the Shop open pretty early for those who wanted to get an early start on essays or other homework that as given on Friday. She would then leave it open pretty late for date nights and get togethers. She had it worked out so it would just be her in the mornings, Her and Daniel in the Afternoon and just Daniel in the Evenings. To make it so she wouldn't loose money she charged by the hour for booths and tables. At first people didn't understand until they remembered that she was in fact blind and they did not want her to attempt to cook something she couldn't see.
The first few times they did this there was a little confusion and there were some patrons who didn't think before they spoke. Once they finally got into the swing of things, everything moved along smoothly. With how smooth it was going made Andrea want to hire another person to help her and Daniel out on days they needed to go to the Pack house.
"Hey Andrea!," A voice shot through her thoughts ",How's Charlie doing?"
Andrea stood up straight leaving the cleaning products in their spot on the table "He's a bigger Glutton now than ever." She replied to Martha "You know you scared me?"
Martha's laugh filled the shop, she had a way to make the area feel more comfortable than it normally did, even if she was having a bad day and blogged about how she hated History "Well I thought you had super human powers that allowed you to know when someone was there." Martha always told her she seemed like a modern day super hero. Andrea didn't quite understand until she realized that Martha was one of the few humans who did not actually know what she really was. The town the shop was located in was a mixture of both humans and Wolves. It had been apart of their packs land ever since the first settlers had created the town. The original Alpha made it as a buffer to make other humans believe it was just a small college town. Alpha Anthony had opened up the town to another pack to allow other Wolves find their mates after the last war. When Anthony first became Alpha it was because of this town and the neighboring pack starting a war and killing Anthony's dad.
Once Anthony took over he had requested to speak with the other packs Alpha and they worked out a truce. The land still belonged to her pack but it was neutral ground for any wolf to come in and get a chance at a mate. Andrea thought he did that because he was hoping one day his mate would walk in one day. That had yet to happen. "Well, Martha," Andrea said returning back to the current situation "Even super hero have their bad days." They both laughed at Andreas comment and talked for a minute. Martha didn't stay long and bid her goodbye when it was time. Bending back down Andrea started to get the Cleaning supplies ready again.
The scent of the next person coming through the door came first before the person did. As the bell chimed she stood up again, Cleaning products in her hand. "Hello stranger," Andrea said to the same man who had come in earlier that week. She could hear him shuffle from one foot to the next. 'He must not be as comfortable with me being blind still.' She thought to her self remembering the fact that he had come in almost every single day this week. Each time he did the same thing. He stood at the door and shifted from one foot to the next until he finally worked up the courage to stay. Today was no different. "One of these day's you're going to have to get used to me if you keep coming in here." She said with a smile, trying to calm his nerves. She could tell that just made him more nervous, only because his heart rate sped up. "I'm sorry," She said in a more soothing tone "Lets try this again." She stuck out her free hand that did not hold cleaning supplies "My name is Andrea, and this is the Hidden Corner, What's your name?"
The guy did move closer to her but he didn't take her hand right away. When he finally did she felt a little bit of a shock that raced up her arm. She did her best not to flinch or let go, but that shock was powerful 'What the hell just happened." She thought keeping the smile plastered on her face. "My name is David" The man finally said, and release her hand a little more quickly than she thought he would have. He did it so quickly that she almost didn't notice it. 'Guess he felt the same thing I did' Andrea thought, then shook the odd reaction out of her mind.
"Would you like the usual spot? I was about to go clean it if your willing to wait." He mumbled a yes and she moved the tablet closer to him before she went to the booth and cleaned it. She was very happy that they bought special wash cloths that had different textures and smells allowing her to clean and not feel completely useless. Once she was finished she put the cleaning supplies away and led David back to the booth. She wished him luck on whatever he was working on and escaped to her booth to read the new book she had purchased Yesterday.
"He's an odd one isn't he?" Daniel whispered from the kitchen. Andrea made a noise that let him know she agreed and then decided it would be a lot more fun to get lost in her book than it would be to focus on what had happened with David.
