With the day going by pretty slowly Andrea took her time in reading the book her mother had bought her recently. Her mother knew how much she enjoyed mystery that she researched a book she could read with her and bought one in regular print for herself and Brail for Andrea. With the book drawing her attention she didn't realize how long she had been reading until got pulled out of the book by the front door bells chiming. Normally she would shout out to whoever had just entered the shop. This time however she didn't. This was because she already knew who it was that had entered the shop and she knew he would come to her booth sooner or later. In fact it didn't take him long to reach her. Sometimes she would joke with him that he was the slowest moving person she had ever met, but today she decided to keep quiet. "Hey Charlie," Anthony said, He had stopped in the doorway to her boot. Soon she could hear him pet Charlie. Knowing Anthony he probably was scratching him on his head. Once he was done giving Charlie the attention he craved Anthony joined Andrea in the booth and sat down across from her. "How are you Andrea?" His voice sounded worn down, like he didn't want to be in her shop at this moment.
Knowing he needed a good laugh Andrea replied by saying "Well I thought I'd go look at the sky later but I'm having to much fun here." Anthony chuckled at her sarcasm , allowing Andrea to hear him relax a little. "How have you been sir?"
The deep breath he took in told her she needed to be ready for what he was about to say. "Honestly this would be a lot easier if I didn't have to do it by myself." He said sadly. He had taken over as Alpha at such a young age he didn't get to explore around the world like most Alphas do in order to find his mate.
"Well next Month that will hopefully change," Andrea said smiling, She placed her arm onto the table in his direction and waited for him to take her hand so she could squeeze his. He seemed to be struggling with what he wanted to say and remained silent for far too long. The length of the silence told Andrea everything that needed to be said even if Anthony had spoken "You're here about them aren't you?" She finally asked quietly.
"I am," Anthony said adding his other hand with his first. "I received a phone call from our lawyer this afternoon." The pain coming from Anthony's voice told her he was feeling the same pain she was feeling. "The men finally got an appeal about getting parole, and the judge granted a hearing tomorrow to determine if they get the chance to get out." At first the news didn't do anything to her. Once the news finally sunk in it caused her heart rate to speed up and her nerves started to jump all over the place. What would happen if they got out? What would she do?! "The lawyer said it would be best if I brought you with me tomorrow to help them understand why they were given life without parole to begin with."
Andrea dropped Anthony's hands and went rigid "I have to go through all of THAT again," She whispered, but to her ears it sounded more like a shrill of words. Anthony moved from the seat he was in to the bench she was occupying. He held her close to help try to calm her down. Charlie was pawing at Andreas legs, unsure of what was going on. Andrea's voice broke "I can't.... I... I just can't!" She sobbed to Anthony.
"Trust me if I could do this without you I would move heaven and earth to keep you from being near them again." Anthony whispered "However, we need to make sure they do not get out, Not just because of you, Andrea" Anthony said soothingly. She could hear that he was trying to help her calm down and realize the bigger problem "We need to do it for the pack." She sat there quietly allowing the words to sink in again. If she didn't do this Anthony, Daniel and her pack would be at risk. If the boys hadn't been her at that time it could have been someone else at a later time. The worse part is they could have found someone who was in the middle shifting. That would have given them the ammunition they needed to get back to their group and release an attack on the wolves in the Pack house. Every member had heard about the stories of the "Hunters Association". These were men and women who had accidentally come across Wolves who were either doing mundane thing or even in the middle of a battle between each other about one thing or another. The pack had thought that majority of the Hunters had become to old to be able to do anything or able to convince others that wolves were bad.
There were many people in the town they lived in that did know about the Pack but they were met on neutral grounds and given the information needed and shown that the pack was not there to cause any harm. In fact the Pack looked out for the town and often helped the police find people in the town that had either gone missing or other things that they needed to keep as much peace as they could.
Andrea took a deep breath leaned further into Anthony and finally spoke when she felt her voice wouldn't break " For the Pack." She whispered to him. Anthony held her a little longer then suggested that she go home to rest because he knew she was wiped out from all of the emotions that was coursing through her. Andrea agreed and asked Daniel to take over, but also told him to close early due to the situation and she didn't want to be alone in their apartment for too long.
Once in her apartment Andrea made it back to her room and cried herself to sleep. The last thought on her mind was being able to get through the next day without incident.
