CHAPTER 11
That could be the last day they would ever have. Believing this to be the case, Douglas organized his things and headed along the road 060 to the rural property that, according to the notary's information, belonged to Veronica's uncle. Douglas was anxious to finish that chapter and to be able to go on with his plans. He would take his vacation and then go back to his routine, once he had forgotten about that case. That was his greatest desire.
On their way, they talked about the approach, and it was agreed that only two men would accompany him further. One of them would be a policeman and the other one of his men. The others would be at strategic locations, close enough to help if needed.
