Sky I zeroed in on the girl who walked in on blondie and I planning to thank her later for interrupting. Lo and behold, James Hayes the beautiful daughter of none other than Griffin Hayes; rock star legend singer and guitarist of Death Phenomena, and the owner of our record label GWH Empire was standing there looking damn shooked. Eyes as wide as saucers and jaw almost hitting the floor. Huh, didn’t even know she was here at all. I mean, I haven't seen her all night up until now. Met her when I was eighteen and she was seventeen, we were just starting our journey to becoming a world-famous band then. Good times. Three years later, I’ve heard she’s been doing some stuff with some of the label’s other artists, not exactly sure what though. Up to this point, I’m pretty sure we’re the only ones who haven’t worked with her. Sure, we exchange a few nods, smiles, and pleasantries when necessary, but this is the first time we’ve actually stared at each other for more than ten seconds. I’m not gonna lie, I think she’s absolutely gorgeous. Brunette, blue eyes, perfect t**s, ass you want to slap or grope, taller than the average chick, kissable pink lips, and oozing s*x appeal. She’s definitely the hotter much younger version of her supermodel mother, Tara Fraser. And as much as I want to make a move on her because I’ve been crushing on her for almost seven years, I’d be s**t crazy to pull anything like that with the boss’s daughter. “I-I um... sorry!” She said looking adorably flustered. She did this thing where she’s deciding whether she wants to walk out of the dressing room or come in. She chose the latter. “Uh, don’t mind me, I just really really need to get something,” she explained covering the side of her face with her phone probably to avoid witnessing more of what she thinks she actually witnessed. She rushed toward the side table quickly snatching a blue folder and bolted out of the door. “Carry on!” I don’t know what took a hold of me, but the next thing I knew I was suddenly pushing blondie off or whatever her name is, so I can run after James. Why? Who the hell knows! I just felt the need to explain myself even though I'm not obligated to. I looked from left to right searching everywhere for her down the hall. She was nowhere in sight. Who the f**k is she? The Flash? Since I couldn’t find her anywhere and I didn’t really want to continue things with blondie, I decided to head a couple of rooms down where the after-party is. “The f**k took you so long?” Maverick asked, handing me a bottle of beer. “Nah man, it was way too quick if you ask me,” Jaxon playfully interjected wiggling his eyebrows suggestively. I rolled my eyes at him and took a swig of beer, “where’s Maddox?” Jaxon pointed a drum stick toward the corner of the room, “tonsil hockey with two women.” Yup, I should have known. The fucker’s a natural manslut so if we’re not performing, practicing, or recording, he’s probably hooking up. Avoiding groupies circling around like sharks is so close to impossible at times like these. They’re ruthless I tell you, so thank f**k for my personal bodyguard, Sean. He’s been doing a kick-ass job keeping anyone I don’t know off my back since I got here and no amount of t**s and asses can make the big guy waver, especially where I’m concerned. He’s like my great freaking wall of China right now, so I’m thinking I should probably give him another raise because it’s certainly not an easy job. I went around for a few minutes exchanged greetings and small talks here and there to keep appearances of course then decided to head out. I could’ve stayed longer, but I just really wanted to head home and pass out. I lit a cigarette dragging smoke into my lungs while I waited for Sean to bring the car around. “Sky!” Colin called out from behind, so I turned to look at him. He wasn’t alone, in fact, he was heading in my direction with James trailing behind. Ah, there she is. “You going somewhere?” He asked. “Yeah. I’m heading home.” That must have surprised him because he raised a brow, possibly contemplating whether or not he’s going to ask if there’s a problem, so to stop him from prying I pointed to my head for emphasis, “headache.” Colin immediately believed my reason, but obviously, James didn’t because she subtly rolled her eyes when she thought I wasn’t looking. f*****g cute. I bit the insides of my cheeks to stop my lips from curving into a smile. “Right, I don’t want to keep you longer, so I just want to let you know that James here will be working as my assistant and she’ll uh, help out with writing the songs for the new album.” She’s gonna help with what now? The f**k is he talking about? I moved my eyes from Colin to James several times dumbfounded obviously. I didn’t know she writes songs plus writing songs for Lucid Mantra is my domain. Did I mishandle that part of my job at some point? “So, you’re sort of going to be working together a lot starting next month for the new album. I’ll call you for the deets soon,” he added before walking away leaving me and James awkwardly staring at each other. Did I mention how seriously hot she is? “Oh, will you look at that, it’s already late so goodnight,” she said breaking eye contact first, walking as fast as she can away from me. I almost went after her again then I realized that I don’t exactly know why I should, so I didn’t. “Goodnight, James!” I called out to her and I stood there for a bit trying to process the bomb that Colin just dropped on me. Never in a billion years did I see this coming. I’ve never worked with anyone when it comes to writing songs for the band. I have a million questions flooding my mind right now, so I really want to know what brought this decision on as early as tomorrow. For now, I need to get my ass home asap and sleep it off.
