Decision
After lying there and listening to the wind make ghostly sounds around the lodge, Celeste knew she wouldn’t be able to get much sleep. It wasn’t because she wasn’t tired. Just the opposite. She was past being exhausted. Now that she was free of Doc and his gang, she was able to breathe and think and act on her own for the first time in weeks. That simple yet precious freedom she never really appreciated until it was no longer hers.
No. There was another matter that weighed more heavily on her conscience now. So heavily, it wouldn’t permit her to get any decent rest until she made a decision…and stuck to it.
