Chapter 15
Morning
They were awakened by the sound of something coming from the back room. Outside, the sky remained gray as rain continued to come down, but the wind had let up quite a bit.
KJ took the opportunity to beat the others, and hurried for the restroom. By the time he returned, Mr. Lozano was exiting his private quarters to bring them breakfast.
“How’d you boys sleep? Okay?”
“Yeah. Just fine,” Doc answered. “Appreciate the accommodations. You’re a good man, Mr. Lozano.”
The motel owner grinned. “Just doing what I feel is the right thing to do.”
Cal walked over to glance out the front door. “Looks like it’s starting to let up a bit.”
“I got an old AM/FM radio in the back room. The hurricane’s finally moving away. It’s now just a Category One, but it’s still dumping a ton
