The silence that followed Brew’s declaration was interrupted when wiped his palms on his thighs and stood. “I’m going to check on Billie,” he told them and left the room. His comment made Celeste realize the woman was missing. And the last time she’d seen her, she had accompanied the men in escorting Doc and the guys out of the lodge.
“Wait. Where did you take them?” she asked Brew. “You didn’t leave Billie alone with Doc, did you?” Knowing what Doc could do to the woman made her fearful for the blonde.
“They’re still cuffed and secured in our special little jail,” Art remarked.
