Chapter 3

"Cordell POV"

My father ordered me to attend Luna Julia's charity dinner. He said that we all have to go. Because we have to support the cause.  

I haven't talked to Summer since she left to go to Florida. She broke up with me through a f*****g text. I'm still not over her yet. My mother sees her when she is visiting Summer's mother. They are good friends. She said Summer looks great. Summer always did look great to me.

Jillian is Carlos the Beta's daughter. She has everyone thinking she's my mate and future Queen Luna. I have never given her that impression. She will never be my Luna. I tell her all the time. She acts as if she doesn't understand or just doesn't care. She's in her own little crazy world.

I'm taking over as Alpha King next year. I have slept around with a lot of she-wolves but none in my pack. That is just too close to home. Summer was my first.  I heard she's doing a great job as Alpha. Since her father was killed by rogues.

I'm always asking Rachael about her when she visits her parents. She doesn't say much, just that she's doing good and busy training. I slept with Rachael once that was before she and her parents joined our pack. She tried to get me to sleep with her after she came here. But I couldn't do that. 

I try to keep up with what's going on with Summer. She will always have my heart even after I find my mate.

After she and Raven her wolf left. Tasmanian my wolf was sad. I would still go over to her house, just to sleep in her bed. After she came back, I would go to the woods close to her bedroom. Just to be close to her scent. Hell, I still can't sleep at night without her.

That damn Chase is always hanging around her. They go shopping, movies, dancing, and do picnics. I always leave when I see them. I don't like seeing her with him or anyone that's not me. 

Two weeks ago, Tasmanian,  was mad as hell, so he took over. He followed Summer and Chase to a secluded spot where they were having a picnic. We didn't get close to them. Just enough to get a clear view of them. They were laughing a lot. He feeds her and his hands were all over her. They had the cutest little girl with them. I heard Rita saying that Summer's mother had adopted a girl. I take it that is her.

Tasmanian fell in love with the little girl. He calls her his pup. I keep telling him he can't claim her. Because she belongs to someone else. He called me stupid, saying she's his pup that I will see.

Last week when I turned eighteen. Yes, I thought about my mate  But I don't know if I'm happy about finding her. I only want Summer. She''ll turn eighteen a few days ago. She will find her mate soon. 

I decided to drive to the mall earlier today. I smelt an intoxicating scent of lilac and gardenia. I left the store.  I didn't want to meet my mate. Chase was there shopping, I didn't see Summer. I couldn't believe it that's the first time I have seen him without her.

Summer's mother is sitting in the den When she arrives home. Summer walks over to her mother, she hugs her.

"Welcome back. How was your trip?"  Her mother hugs her back

Summer sits down beside her "It was great! We had a good time." She smiles

"That's good"  Her mother pats her thigh 

"Mother, did everyone RSVP?" She is looking at her. Deep down Summer is hoping that she will say no.

Her mother looks at her. " Yes, my daughter, the McMillan's RSVP.  So did their Beta. I was hoping that Rita wouldn't. I have never liked that woman.

" Well, I knew they would. I will do my best to avoid him and his mate. as much as possible." She is looking toward the stairs

Her mother is looking at her " Daughter, maybe it's time to tell him about Aiko? I know you still love him."

Summer glances over at her "I'll think about it. I don't want that slut anywhere near my baby. You know she tried to knock me down today at the mall?"

"I sure as hell hope that you put that b***h in her place." Her mother is looking over her body.

"I'm fine, mother. Chase caught me before I fell. But  I didn't get a chance, Chase did it. " Summer stands up.

" He is a good friend. Too bad he's not your Mate." She smiles

"Since you brought that up. If we don't find our mate in three months. We decided we would Mate" Summer turns to look at her mother.  

"That would be good for you both. What if you can't avoid Cord tonight" Her mother is looking out the window.

" I believe it will be.  Now regarding Cord, I will have to deal with it. I better start getting ready. Lily is giving Aiko her bath for me. I bought her a beautiful white lace and ruffle dress to wear tonight. You know I have a feeling it's going to be a long night." Summer is walking out of the den.
