ZINNET'S POINT OF VIEW
"Zin, we need to do something to get out of here!" she added.
I could see how terrified Amaya was. Seeing my father in critical condition, I wouldn't want anything to go wrong with him.
"Amaya, what do we do? We can't leave Mom and Dad like this," I said.
Amaya also seemed disturbed. I think she doesn't have any idea either. My mom was giving me her usual glare of disdain. I'm aware of how much she hates me, but I still need to save her.
"Quick, I want you to catch them before they escape!"
I heard Luna's voice not so far from the room where we were hiding. Amaya gestured for us to stay silent along with my family. I could hear their footsteps approaching the room. What should I do now?
If I escape alone, my parents and brother will be held captive. If I stay here, Luna will capture and possibly kill me. It was a tough decision to make.
Luna opened the door and scanned the room with her eyes.
"Where is that silly daughter of yours?" She dashed to my parents, who were still tied up.
They all stared at her without saying a word. I hoped Mom wouldn't reveal where I was hiding.
Amaya and I kept calm while hiding in a small wardrobe in the room. It was well-furnished, and no one would suspect we were inside. It was cramped, making it hard for anyone to survive in. Melissa must not see my face at all costs. If she does, I'll never have the chance to exact my revenge. I peeked through a small opening in the furniture.
"Has the cat got your tongues? Tell me where they are now!" Melissa screamed at my parents, each statement fueling my anger.
"Believe me, Melissa, I have no idea where my daughter is. She left home a few days ago and hasn't returned," my dad said, only to receive a fiery slap.
"Tell me the truth. Where is she? You and I both know she's not your real daughter, so why are you risking your life for her?" she added after slapping my dad.
I tried to move out of my hiding spot, but Amaya grabbed my arm and gestured for me to be patient.
Melissa turned to my mom and asked, "Nayami, where is she?"
I knew Mom would eventually reveal where I was hiding. I immediately covered my face with a torn piece of lace from my clothes.
As Mom was about to point to the wardrobe, Nicho shouted, "No, Mom, Zin is not here. We haven't seen her for a few days now."
Melissa turned to him angrily, grabbed his throat, and tried to strangle him.
"Please, Melissa, spare my son," Mom cried out.
"Now, tell me, where is she?" Melissa left Nicho and walked closer to Mom.
"There!" Mom pointed at the wardrobe where we were hidden.
"We're done for!" Amaya touched me and covered her face as well.
As soon as the wardrobe opened, Amaya and I simultaneously kicked the two men who opened it.
"Capture them!" Melissa commanded, and four other guards ran after us.
What was Mom doing? Was she escaping? Finally, Mom freed her hands and ran out of the room. Her life came first!
Amaya and I fought the guards, beating them mercilessly. We made sure that every guard was left incapacitated.
"Show me your faces!" Melissa demanded with her loud voice.
"That's a wish that can never be granted," Amaya responded, unsheathing her sword.
"Let's make this quick, woman to woman!" she added, advancing toward Melissa.
I readied my sword to support Amaya.
"Which one of you is Alpha Zich's daughter?" Melissa asked while preparing for battle with her sword.
"Amaya, she's called for many wolves to come in. You both need to leave immediately!" Nicho shouted with closed eyes, looking as if he was in a nightmare.
Melissa turned to him, looking like he had spoiled her plan. She snapped her fingers, and the door locked. Melissa still had her powers!
"What are you up to?" I asked.
Melissa's eyes turned green as she started transforming into a wolf.
"Amaya, what should we do?" I moved closer to Amaya.
I could hear a howling sound coming from nearby.
"Zin, Amaya, you both need to run! The wolves are here!" Nicho screamed while my dad stared at him with an intense gaze.
Melissa had almost fully transformed into a wolf when the room started changing color. Was it a red background? Everything turned red! Melissa had completely turned into a wolf.
I looked around but saw no means of escape.
"A window!" Amaya pointed to our right.
"Whoo!" I heard a howling sound.
Two wolves stood before us, adding to Melissa to make them three.
Amaya and I poised our swords.
"Are you ready?" I asked, my voice steady but urgent. Amaya's nod was all the confirmation I needed. Without another word, we lunged forward, our movements swift and synchronized.
The wolves, their eyes gleaming with malice, snarled and leaped toward us. Our savagery was all that was needed at that moment. Adrenaline surged through me as I parried their fierce attacks, each clash of metal ringing out like a battle cry. Amaya fought beside me, her skill and determination matching my own.
The wolves were relentless, both trying their best to bring Amaya and me down. I could see Amaya weakening. She had fought fiercely, but the wolves seemed more determined.
"Zin, leave the scene. Run away!" I heard Nicho yell, tears streaming from his closed eyes.
"Get out of here, Amaya. Let Dad bear the burden. Go now, Zin!" Nicho continued yelling, but how did he expect us to leave when the wolves wouldn't stop attacking us?
"Stand still!" Nicho yelled, but Amaya wasn't paying attention.
I stood still, and Amaya followed suit.
The wolves stopped their gestures and stared at us. They slowly approached, their eyes fixed on Amaya and me. As they majestically walked toward us, their gaze focused on me.
"What now, Zin?" Amaya asked softly.
"Don't move!" Nicho added, still with closed eyes.
I closed my eyes, disregarding the possible outcome. I had no idea how Nicho became spiritually aware, but I had to listen to him.
I could sense the wolves very close to me. Their quiet howls and majestic footsteps indicated their proximity. When I opened my eyes, I found myself in a garden.
