The cursed wolves: Fated Mates

CHAPTER FIVE

Sophie POV

As the light crept in through the window, i could feel the heat from the scorching sun along my back. At this very moment i had never felt so safe & at ease. The imagines from the previous evening replaying in my head, every touch, every tender kiss. This was what i wanted, this feeling of security. It had been decided in between our lovemaking that we would be mated. We would introduce me to the pack this evening & preperations for the ceremony would begin immediately. Jake didn't want to worry the rest of pack with the details of my current situation but with the full moon fast approaching it would make sense to complete the mating ceremony sooner rather than later in the hopes of avoiding Malcolm & his ludicrous plans.

Laying on Jake's chest I could feel the subtle change in his breathing, making me aware of his now open eyes. Laying together, eyes locked I could feel the electricity between us start to tingle all of my senses, one particularly between my legs.

"Good morning beautiful" Jake said whilst placing a kiss upon my lips.

As soon as Jake's lips pressed against mine i felt my arousel grow. Wow what was the guy doing to me! A soft laugh escaped me & i could feel eyes staring down at me.

"And there was me thinking last night might have left you worn out, i clearly shouldn't under estimate an Alpha's daughter."

I could feel Jake's growing effection against me. Clearly we didn't need words to understand eachothers needs. Just as i went to open my mouth, Jake silenced me with his & we carried on repeating the events of the night. As expected Jake's very touch unravelled me to my core & we finished together in sync.

Laying with our legs entangled my thoughts started drifting onto the upcoming ceremony.

"Jake, can i ask a question?"

"Does it involve breakfast? Because i dont know about you little wolf, but I'm starving!"

"In that case, let's eat, i can cook and talk. I actually have a lot of questions about the ceremony. I think i was so adiment that i didn't want to be mated to someone that i didn't really pay enough attention to what my mother told me about the ceremony." It didn't help that i was also only 13 when she told me.

"What do you want to know? As Alpha unfortunately i literally had to sit through lessons from my father to learn all aspects of being the Alpha, including what was expected of me in the ceremony. I'll have to consult him today before we make our announcement. I'm actually unsure of the steps when mated to another alpha, this is a first in all our history, "

Wow, I had never actually heard anyone refer to me as another alpha. My father always did, but it had been years since & something Malcolm would never entertain. The idea of a female alpha was ridiculous to him. It was nice to hear it out loud from someone who truly meant it.

I am an alpha, just without a pack.

After the best breakfast I had ever had, I returned to my own room to get ready for the day. All the information Jake had given me about the ceremony was swimming around in my head, it was a lot to think about. Not that I was going to change my mind, I wanted nothing more than to be with Jake & become his Luna.

All i could now think was how much I hoped his parents approved. Regardless of us being fated mates we would still require the current Alpha & Luna to give their blessing. It was the case with all mates but even more so for the next alpha. Apparently being fated together isn't good enough, which makes absolutely no sense but considering nobody in the last century had ever being fated together we couldn't exactly lead with it, who would believe.

Stepping out of the shower i could hear voices down the hall, someone shouting about responsibilities & being a leader. I decided to just c***k the door ever so slightly to listen. It didn't quite sound like it was a conversation to interrupt.

Female voice "Darling, i just don't think you should be jumping down the Isle with some rogue you know nothing about, you've only known her barely a week. Why not wait until the next celestrial moon. Isn't there a lunar eclipse coming up the following month?"

Male voice "Son, your mother is correct. Just think a Lunar eclipse for the ceremony of my only son & his chosen mate. It would make a spectacular setting for such a momentum occation."

Jake "But you don't undertand..."

Jakes father "Your mother & I have spoken & agreed. The Lunar eclipse gives us just enough time to make sure this is right for the pack. I won't be rushed into blessing a complete stranger into being a leader of this pack. Regardless of her supposed alpha status. Which will have to be confirmed, I will sit with her family & we will agree terms."

Complete silence for a minute. I heard mention of fetching me for introductions but all I could think was how am I to survive this. If they require a sit down with Malcolm then that was that. He would never allow me to leave the pack, once he knows where i am he will come with force. I shut the door as quietly as possible & running back to the bathroom i switched the shower back on in hopes of not being disturbed. Thankfully it had worked, i heard the door open & close without a knock on the bathroom door.

Jake POV

Oh god i hope she understands. They just don't believe in the force behind a true mate, they chose eachother. The mer thought that their was someone actually out there that they were destined to be with other than eachother, they didn't want to believe it. I understand, i always thought my parents had a very unique bond, they were extremely luckily in finding eachother & becoming the strong leaders they now are, joint & as one. It's very rare, majority of she wolves are there in the backround, very old fashioned home makers. Which explains why so many procreate so much, they have nothing else!

Opening the door to Sophie's room i could hear the shower still going. I quickly closed the door & sat on the edge of the bed ready to expain that we would not be wed this coming week. I really hope she understands.

Watching as Sophie stepped out from behind the door, im not sure if i was relieved or not about her being dressed. I guess it would at least keep me focused.

"How was the shower?" Wow she is beautiful.

Sophie "Yeah, perfect. Was that your parents i heard outside?"

Ok that answers the question of if she heard anything.

"Uh huh."

Sophie "So without sounding like a princess, i can't go through with everything like this."

My heart stopped. Had she changed her mind? Is it my being an alpha? No, that can't be it, she was absolutely fine this morning with it.

Sophie "I can see the worry on your face, i don't mean at all, i only meant to say i don't think i can wait that long" Sophie said whilst climbing onto my lap. Wrapping her legs around my waist i could feel myself grow beneath her. God she drives me crazy, her scent, the sound of her voice, the soft touch of her skin on mine just sends electricity through every part of me.

Get your head in the game Jake.

Looking directly into Sophie's eyes, without hesitation i stated my claim upon her.

"Right, let's get this all sorted once & for all. Me & you? This is what you want yes? Us mated, together through this life & the next. Ruling together as one, my luna, your alpha?"

"If you agree to this Sophie, i will spend every moment of my existence defending you, protecting you, making you the happiest luna this pack has ever seen. And i say that knowing my mother is only down the hall possibly listening!"

I waited patiently for her response. I didn't need to be so worried, she looked directly into my eyes & with the most fierce look of what i can only imagine love, gave me the answer i desperately wanted.

Sophie "I want nothing more than to be yours."
