The night Alexander had met Marissa, he went to Maxwell’s bar to get a few drinks because he had had a long day at the winery and just wanted to relax a little, He and Maxwell use to play basketball when they were younger so when he opened the place, he occasionally went there to catch up and have a few drinks. He noticed her when she came in looking distraught and with her tear-stained face he could tell that she had been crying, he hadn’t felt sorry for her, for all he knows she probably deserved what she was going through, he didn’t notice her again till he saw the way she was drinking, he watched her for a while and concluded that she didn’t normally take alcohol, yet that didn’t stop her, fascinated he decided to approach her, not out of romantic interest, but rather as a desire to offer comfort and support. He asked if he could sit with her for a while, she looked at him suspiciously at first but later nodded, from her body language he could tell that she was already drunk and she, lost in her own pain, continues to drink, seeking temporary escape from her troubles.
As the night progressed, he became genuinely worried about her well-being. He realized that she has had too much to drink and he felt a little obligated to ensure her safety and decides to take her home, but as he reached out to her, she started crying loudly and people started giving them disgruntled looks, embarrassed he lifted her and the crying got louder, the effect of the alcohol had definitely taken a toll on her, as he carried her out of the bar, he quickly stopped a cab then tried to calm her down so he could ask her directions to her house, but instead with a wavering voice, accused him of cheating on her with her best friend, even when he tried to explain to her that he wasn’t who she thought he was, she continued crying, frustrated he got into the cab and directed the cab driver to take them to the nearest motel. When they got there he paid for the night and managed to carry her to the room.
As they got in the room, he took her to the bathroom so she could wash up, but she couldn’t stand on her own, so he walked up to help her and as he tried to take her clothes off, she put her arms around his neck and kissed him, at first he kissed her back but he had to use all his willpower to step back, she tried to kiss him again but he stopped her, he looked at her, her eyes looking back at him invitingly, and for the first time that night, he took a good look at her, she was actually very pretty and she had a stunning body, slim yet curvy and it was calling to him, but she was drunk and he wasn’t going to take advantage of her in that state, but before he could complete his thoughts she started throwing up all over the bathroom and all that was in his mind vanished, there was no way anything could happen again that night.
After he had successfully got her out of her clothes and helped her wash up, he carried her, laid her on the bed and covered her with the sheets. Tired, he started taking off his clothes, he always slept in the nude and that wasn’t going to change tonight. He got in bed next to her and slept off almost immediately. Now, waking up this morning, he was furious, she left without a word and even after all he went through because of her, he checked the time, it was quarter to 10am, he picked up his phone and called Denise, his secretary to tell her that he would be arriving the office late.
He had to find her; she had no right to leave like that, without any courtesy, if anything she owed him and he was going to make her pay, Alexander was a man filled with pride and a lot of ego and at this point his pride had been hurt. He got dressed, left the motel and got a taxi to Maxwell’s bar.
