"The CEO of TRE."

I couldn't help but cover my face as everyone's eyes were glued on us as he dragged me like we had a thing going on between us. “Stop it!” I demanded as I drew my hand out of his grip and looked him straight into his eyes. “What's the meaning of this? You're definitely that jerk” I said as I was furious with his actions. “A jerk? Me?” He questioned as he stood right in front of me with his tall figure which seemed like he was 6 feet plus tall with both of his hands in his pocket while he looked down on me. My heart skipped a beat as the memory of our previous encounter flooded my mind. I struggled to maintain my composure as I knew I needed to beat him at whatever game it was that he brought on. “Yes, you,” I replied with a shaky voice that could reveal my fear but quickly cleared my throat to cover up for that as I took a few steps backward from him and stopped as I felt my back against the wall. His little laugh sent chills down my spine as my heart beat increased and I turned red. Yes, I embarrassed myself. “It seems like fate has a way of bringing us together, despite what we do,” he said in a clear sarcastic tone as his lips quirked into a wry smile. He sure had a way with his words. I tried distracting myself as I looked around and bit on my index finger. “I need to get back to work, what are you doing here? Why did you drag me out here?” I asked as I tried looking at his direction but not at him. I needed to be in control of myself. “How's the patient, the one you operated on?” He asked, his eyes filled with curiosity. “He's fine, he just needs… Why are you asking?” I questioned as I recalled seeing him while in the theatre room. “He's my driver.” He replied with a low voice that could tell he was sad. “Your driver?” I asked him as I was shocked as to what could have happened for him to be in such a situation while the man in front of me seemed fine. “Were you both together?” I further asked to ease of my curiosity. “Yes, we were. It was unexpected.” he replied as he relaxed on the wall. Different thoughts ran through my mind as my doctor's intuition was triggered. “You need a check up immediately,” I said as I dragged him by his hand into the hospital as we walked through the hallway. Chatters were all over the hallway as we passed but I couldn't care less as all I had on my mind was to deal with the patient whom I was leading to get himself checked. “Lucy,” I called the nurse across the counter on the Hall A as we stepped in and tried giving instructions but was shocked by the reactions I saw. For a few seconds I tried understanding the room as I watched the nurses across the counter but got nothing until I heard a voice directly whispering in my ears. “Your hand,” he said as I was startled and looked at my hand only to see that I held onto his hand all the way down there. I quickly left his hand and looked at him and then at the nurses at the counter and gave a smile. “Uhmmm… Please check him. He came in with the patient who had an operation…” “I'm okay, relax,” he said, stopping me from finishing my statement. “Uhmm…” I stuttered as I tried calling his name only to remember that I didn't know his name. His chuckle got me as I thought really hard. “Alexander,” he said as he smiled from ear to ear, looking at me intently. "Yes, Alexander, you need to get yourself checked immediately, and this is not up for a negotiation” I said as I looked him in his eyes trying to read him. “Dr. Sophie,” I heard my name from the hallway, and tried looking to see who that was. “Dr. Robin” I called out as I saw it was him who called me. “Yes…Good day Mr. Robert” my Chief, Dr. Robin greeted the man who stood beside me with so much respect. Shocked by what was going on, I watched Alexander closely as he and my Chief exchanged pleasantries. How did they know each other? The chatter from the nurses across the counter got my attention as I watched them intently hoping to get an answer to the questions flooding my brain. “Doc,” Lucy called me in whispers as she signaled me to come close to the counter. “What's going on?” I asked her in whispers and anyone could see how curious I was. “Don't you know him?” she asked me as she brought her head closer to mine, making it easier for me to hear her whispers. “Are you going to tell me?” I replied with a little increase in my tone as my curiosity was at its peak. “He's Mr. Alexander Robert, the CEO of TRE, The Robert's Empire. The youngest top billionaire in the country. I don't know how you held his hand and dragged him down here without knowing who he is,” she said as she withdrew her head. What the hell! What had I done? I looked at the man who stood in front of me discussing with my Chief and I was left in awe. I needed to get out of that place. Just as I was about to sneak away, Lucy called my name out loud leaving me looking like a cat caught in the act. “Doctor Sophie” she called out, causing all eyes to fall on me. I rolled my eyes trying to get my act together as I looked at her furious as to why she did that. “Going somewhere?” Alexander asked as he held my hand in front of my Chief. “You both know each other?” Dr. Robin asked as he tried understanding what he saw while moving his index finger from me to Alexander. “Yes, Doctor. She's a long time friend of mine. We go way back.” He replied as he looked directly into my eyes causing an abrupt palpitation. “Ohhh..I never knew.” My Chief replied in surprise. I mean, there's no one that wasn't surprised at his response including I. “Can I ask that she gets the rest of the day off as I have something to handle that needs urgent attention and she's the only one who can do justice to it,” Alexander said to Dr. Robin as a lips quirked up in a wry smile while piercing through my eyes with his eyes. “Uhmm…not a problem. You can have her for today,” my Chief replied without any hesitation. “Sir, I have…” “Don't worry, everything will be sorted out” my Chief replied as Alexander took me by my hand, dragging me outside.
