I opened my mouth to try to explain to those watching as another lycan lunged towards me, catching me off guard. I could feel its claws digging into my shoulder as it pulled me towards it and away from anyone who may have helped.
Lifting my hand, I clutched at the lycan's wrist and let my powers seep into it, freezing the arm and claw. Lifting the hand again, I slammed it against the now frozen limb and watched in satisfaction as it shattered into icy chunks of meat and bone.
The lycan tipped its head back and gave a howl before lifting its available arm and swiping at me, managing to catch its claws against my chest.
A searing pain rushed through me as bright red blood began to appear from the scratches that now marred my skin, promising more scars to join the others.
