The alarm clock rang noisily, awakening Emily from her sleep; and reaching out to the clock, she switched the alarm off and sat up in her bed, annoyed that she could not go on to the end of her dream. Emily looked at the display in front of her bed, proudly gazing at the trophies she had received in the cycling competition she participated in for the past four years.
