Frank tugs my arm gently, leading us down a hall until we get to a metal door.
I’m no longer fighting him at this point, and I have no doubt he feels relieved about that.
The truth is, I don’t want him spilling my secret to anyone, especially not Cicero. It's been four years since it happened, and I made him promise to keep my secret.
Frank isn’t exactly a bad person. He’s just focused on getting the best out of his client, Cicero, and is ready to go the extra mile to do that if he needs to.
So, at that time, when the act took place, I found a way to convince him that if Cicero finds out, it will affect his career, knowing he doesn’t play with Cicero’s career.
So, he agreed to keep my secret because, as we all know, Cicero is a ticking time bomb.
Frank opens the door, and the faint scent of men's cologne, heat, and masculine odor permeates the air.
The sight of half-naked hockey players hits me as he leads the way, walking ahead, while good-looking and well-chiseled hockey athletes stare and whistle as we pass them.
Finally, I see Cicero leaning against a locker. His back immediately tenses, and he turns to me instantly as if he senses me.
"Nelle," he calls lazily, the tone of his voice thick and heady.
Frank nods at me, turns, and instantly disappears.
I stop at a reasonable distance away from Cicero and ask. "Why did you ask for me?"
He covers our distance with just two long strides and pins me against a locker, his eyes racking over my body hungrily.
"Cicero..." I whisper.
"Yes, little mama," he replies, sniffing in my scent. "You came to watch me play."
His gaze stops at my lips and lingers temptingly. "I loved having you watch me. Thank you."
Wow!
Am I dreaming? Someone should tap me and-
"The boys are holding a party at the bar to celebrate today’s win.” He continues, “And you’re coming with me."
"Excuse me!” I exclaim, wondering at the meaning of the finality in his tone. “I'm not going anywhere with you."
He chuckles and leans closer to me, staring at every feature of my face as if he’s drinking everything about me in.
There is a deep hunger in his eyes that I can't explain.
His gaze overpowers me, and I can only stare back at his lips, while my body, on its own, pushes me forward, wanting him to...
Oh my god, this s**t is crazy.
Cicero does something I find so sexy that weirdly short-circuits my brain.
He darts out his tongue and gives my right cheek a swift, long lick that has me moaning and shutting my eyes.
For a brief moment, I can’t seem to register anything else until I feel a hand over my bare flesh, crawling up to my bralette, and gently massaging my boobs.
I force my eyes open immediately in horror and try to push him away. But as usual, Cicero is nothing but a rock-hard brick whenever he doesn't want to budge.
I look around frantically, scared that people might see us out here in the open.
"Cicero, people might see," I whisper.
"I don't care."
F*ck!
"I'll come to the party," I tell him, hoping that would stop him at least.
I think it worked because he finally releases me and pats down my top, his gaze dark as the devil that he is.
"I'll go with you,” I tell him. “But only on one condition."
He arches his brow and smiles. "I give it to you, sweet Nell. You're such a smart-ass. You know just the right time to negotiate with me. Don't you?"
I refuse to play into his coy game. If I as much as smile, he'll find a way to corner and coax me out of whatever deal I'm about to propose.
"Free Pius and I'll go with you."
He does that very annoying laugh again and replies with "In your dreams.”
“Cicero…”
“The answer is no. And you're going with me."
“What do you mean by no? You can’t hold him up in a chair all tied up and expect me to do whatever you want wholeheartedly. Please, let Pius go,” I plead with him.
“It’s laughable that you think you have a say in this.” He replies and steps away from me.
He walks over to his open locker, surfs through it, and grabs a pair of black pants.
As if I didn’t say a thing, he pulls down his shorts, exposing the long bulge of his d**k inside his boxer briefs.
It's so massive and thick that I could almost make out the huge veins underneath the cotton fabric.
Feeling awkward that he caught me ogling, I quickly turn away, muttering within myself and asking God for his mercy to get out of this temptation intact.
But it seems Cicero doesn’t share in my sentiments. I feel his presence before he touches my shoulder, and turns me around to look at him.
He is grinning hard, his face looking so innocent with tiny creases around the corners of his eyes.
“After all these years, you're still so cute, Nelle.” He says, his gaze capturing mine.
I stare into his eyes that are blazing with a fiery intensity, impossible to ignore.
The way he sees me… no one had ever seen me like that. A jolt of electricity races through my core, and shivers run down my spine.
“Look down, baby. Look…see how hard I am for you. See how much torture I go through every time I think of you.”
I refuse to do as he asked. Instead, I train my eyes on his face, defiantly.
He laughs and tugs my chin. “You drive me crazy,” he says and heads back to the open locker.
With the distance, my gaze travels down a bit, and I see that he’s already wearing a fresh pair of pants that are doing a good job of shielding the bulge in his groin.
“i***t,” I mutter, realizing that he was only teasing me seconds ago, and it's so annoying that I fell for it.
“Come to the after-party with me, and I will consider sparing the life of your stupid-ass husband,” he proposes.
“Do you promise?” I ask, already considering his offer.
He shrugs, “You know me…better than anybody else.”
He says the words so freely, but I know they carry a deeper meaning.
His proposition might not sound like much, but with Cicero, something as little as a consideration can be tagged a win.
So, I reply with a “Yes.”
If I want Pius to live, then I have to do this for him.
