My Mischievous Knight

1460 Words
After an uneventful week after, sadly without any other encounters with the all so famous Puppet Master, I lay on the luscious grass in front of the campus's main building, Henry chuckling softly beside me. Tears brimmed the corners of my eyes as my laughter died down. His smile shown brightly as the sun reflected off his rich brown eyes. The weather was warm outside as the sun shown brightly.  "Oh my... I can't believe you actually tried that." I wiped at my eyes as a chuckle slipped past my lips. Henry shrugged as an embarrassed smile played on his lips. "I was seven okay? Do you really expect more from a seven year old boy?" I nodded as I grinned. "Yes Henry, I do expect more from a seven year old boy."  We broke into another fit of laughter, a slight redness staining is cheeks. I lay down on my back, staring up at the clear blue sky. It was a nice warm day out and a lot of the students were lounging around outside. Henry lay down next to me on his side, using his hand to keep his head up as he stared down at me. "So... Any embarrassing stories on your side?" I bit down on my bottom lip, trying to think and I noticed his gaze flickering towards the movement of my mouth. I tried not to smirk as I slowly shook my head. "Nope, not really." He groaned, rolling his eyes as he pulled his hand through his hair. "Oh come on! That can't be true."  I felt a slight blush cover my cheeks. "Unfortunately, it is. I had a very uneventful childhood." I picked at my nails as I let out a nervous chuckle. Henri suddenly furrowed his brows, seeming to be deep in thought. He suddenly jumped up, startling me. "Come on." He reached out his hand towards me. I looked at him sceptically as I placed my hand in his. He helped me to my feet. I stumbled into him and he caught me with strong muscular arms. I could feel heat rush up my neck onto my face. What a strange sense of deja-vu. I looked up into his eyes and they just seemed to sparkle with mischief as he smirked down at me.  I cleared my throat as I took a step back. My body instantly felt cold. A look of disappointment passed over his face, but he quickly covered it up with an easy-going smile. "Um... where to are we going?"  His mouth formed an 'o', as if remembering why he pulled me from my very comfortable space on the grass. I suddenly felt the urge to pout as I thought about my comfortability. "Oh yeah!" His smile broadened as he stared at me. "Let's go have some fun, cause some mischief." I raise an eyebrow at him, looking at him in disbelief. "Are you serious?" He eagerly nodded.  I scoffed as I nibbled my bottom lip, a small smile playing on my lips. "You do realize we have class in less that eight minutes? And  that it's broad daylight?" His face fell as if only just realising that. "Oh s**t yeah..." I lightly slapped his bicep. "Language!" He sheepishly smiled as he shrugged his shoulders. "Sorry." I rolled my eyes, a smile spreading across my lips. "I should probably get going." Henri pouted as he stared at me. I held up my hands in defence. "Hey! You also have a class to get to and to be honest, I do not want to get into trouble for being late when I've barely been here for over three weeks."  Henri sighed, seeming to give in. "Fine! But I'm still taking you out for some fun. Say Thursday?" I pondered the thought over. I had early classes on Friday and I probably needed the sleep, plus I had a class test in my second period, but the moment I looked into his pleading chocolaty eyes, I found myself willingly nod. A bright smile broke out across his face. He grabbed me by the waist, picked me up and spun me around. I laughed as I pressed my head into his shoulder. We got a few sideways glances, but neither of us cared. "Great! I'll pick you up at seven." I shook my head and giggled as he happily walked away, a slight bounce in his step. I slung my back over my shoulder, snuggling to the strap as I walked to my class. I couldn't stop smiling during that whole period. *** "Oh goodness gracious me, I have nothing to wear!" I tucked at my already messy curls, only creating more of a mess. "Yeah, it's such a shame..." Skylar sucked on her lollipop and she pretended to exam her nails. She was sprawled out on her stomach on her bed, tugging at her blanket now and then. I rolled my eyes and glared back at her. "Well maybe you should stop lazing around and help me!" She instantly perked up, a glorious smile stretched across her face. "I thought you'd never ask!"  She rushed to my side, digging through my closet, throwing some unneeded commentary around. "God, you seriously have nothing in here." I rolled my eyes and placed my hands on my hips. "Well what am I gonna do now? Henry's picking me up in less than two hours." Skylar tapped her chin, pretending to think, before she rushed towards her closet. Clothes started flying. I literally had to duck a few times so that I wouldn't get hit by a flying sneaker or heel. "Oh, this can work! Or maybe that? Why not both!" I arched a brow as she continued to babble to herself, throwing her picks onto the bed.  She quickly threw something my way and ushered me to get dressed. After I change, she quickly sits me down before doing my hair and make-up. When she was done, I was shocked with the results. My usually wild and curly hair was now pin straight, hanging low towards my lower back. She kept my make-up neutral, but it still seemed to bring out my features. I wore a figure-fitting, long sleeved black blouse with a high-waisted brown skirt that ended mid thigh. I wore long, velvet heeled-boots that ended just below my knee.  "Done and dusted." Skylar dusted off imaginary spectacles from her clothes as she smiled victoriously. I quickly turned around and gave her a hug. She seemed surprised at first but quickly hugged me back. I pulled back and gave her a smile, before turning to the door. "Go get him Tiger!" She slapped my arse and I jumped in shock. I giggled nervously as she wiggled her fingers at me. Just as I closed the door behind me, my phone vibrated in my hand.  You're  mischievous knight in shining armour is waiting! I smiled softly before rushing down the hall as quickly as I could in these heels. A slight breeze blew as I stepped outside. I saw Henry leaning against his car in all his glory. He was busy on his phone, so he hasn't noticed my arrival yet. I slowly moved towards him. When I finally stood in front of him, he looked up from his phone. His eyes bulged. His gaze trailed from top to bottom and he let out a low whistle as he met my gaze again. "Damn Vicki..." A shy smile spread across my lips as heat rushed up onto my cheeks. "How do I look?" I gave him a little twirl and giggled as he laughed. "You look beautiful..."  I stared at him through my lashes as he smiled down lovingly at me. Suddenly coming back to reality, Henry clears his throat, a slight blush creeping onto his cheeks. He scratched the back of his neck nervously and glanced away. "So, shall we go?" I nodded. After he held the door open for me to climb in, he quickly made his way into the driver's seat. "So where are we going?" I stared at our surroundings as we drove down an unknown street. "It's a surprise." He gave me a cheeky smile and I couldn't help but feel nervous. The buildings sped past and very soon we were in a smaller, more rural area. Henry turned into a parking lot of what seemed to be an abandoned, broken down warehouse. Except for the fact that it wasn't. My eyes were wide with shock as I dat the scene playing out in front of us. "What is this?" There were a ton of people either hanging around souped up cars, admiring other cars or just stumbling around drunkenly. "Welcome Vicki, to a street race." ***
