I glanced at Dennis, wondering what we should do. I wasn’t even sure who these people were. Dennis seemed to be mind-linking the pack house and telling his people to come to the swimming hole because he wasn’t paying attention to me. The one wolf came close to me, and I backed away. I didn’t know what their deal was, but I wanted no part of it. When the wolf took another step toward me, Dennis came up beside me, and his wolf released a giant growl of warning.
