Sierra woke up slowly, the first rays of sunlight streaming through the tall curtains of the VIP suite. Her head throbbed faintly, the dull ache reminding her of last night’s wine.
She blinked rapidly, trying to focus, and immediately froze. Her eyes widened in shock as she realized she was naked, lying next to Adrian Westwood, who was still sleeping soundly. Her heart raced, pounding in her chest like a drum, and her breath hitched. Panic surged through her veins.
She remembered, in fragments, the events of the previous night, the drinks, the game, the way she had tumbled onto him, their lips meeting. Her stomach flipped violently. Oh my God… I was drunk… I was with him… and now… Her mind spun. She couldn’t stay here a second longer.
With trembling hands, she scrambled off the bed, trying to cover herself, and grabbed her clothes from the floor. Her fingers shook as she pulled her dress over her head and slipped into it, quickly fastening the buttons and zipping the back. She felt exposed, guilty, and terrified all at once. Every step she took was careful, almost tiptoeing, as if she could make the situation worse by moving too fast.
Once she was dressed, she grabbed her shoes. slipped them on while breathing deeply through her mouth to calm herself. Her heart raced as she opened the room door slowly.
The hallway was beyond silent except for the faint hum of the morning air conditioning. She stepped out, trying to make herself as small as possible.
As she hurried down the hallway, she didn’t notice the manager standing around the corner until she almost collided with her.
“Sierra!” the manager’s voice was sharp, and Sierra froze, with her heart jumping into her throat.
“Ah… good morning, ma”am,” Sierra managed to mutter, with her voice trembling slightly.
The manager’s eyes narrowed, suspicious and piercing. “Where were you all night?” she asked, folding her arms.
Sierra’s mind raced. I can’t tell her the truth… She forced a small, nervous smile. “Ah… I… I wasn’t feeling well, madam, so I just rested in my locker room. I couldn’t sleep well, that’s all,” she lied, her words barely above a whisper.
At that, the manager’s expression softened slightly, but she raised one eyebrow. “Hmm… I see. Very well. I guess you can take a break now until night.... and don’t get into any trouble.”
“Yes, ma’am,” Sierra breathed out, with relief flooding through her as the manager walked away, with her heels clicking softly on the polished floor.
Sierra pressed a hand to her chest, trying to slow her heartbeat. She let out a shaky breath and hurried toward the changing room. She reached her locker, opened it quickly, and pulled out her normal clothes. her night shift had ended, and she needed to go home.
Her hands still trembled as she changed, slipping into the clothes she had worn from home. She grabbed her handbag, double-checked that she had everything, and left the changing room.
She made her way to the hotel exit, the fresh morning air washing over her like a wave of relief. Her heart still somersaulted with nerves, and her mind kept replaying the events of last night in flashes, the closeness, the wine, the way Adrian had looked at her. What exactly happened between us? she wondered, shivering despite the warm sunlight.
Immediately outside, a cab was waiting near the hotel entrance. Without hesitating, Sierra climbed in, giving the driver her address.
She sank into the back seat, wrapping her arms around herself, trying to collect her thoughts. Her gaze drifted to the window, watching the city move past, but her mind was elsewhere.
She could still feel the warmth of Adrian’s body, the taste of his lips, and the overwhelming intoxication that had led to… whatever had happened.
Her stomach churned with a mix of fear and curiosity. I need to forget this. I have to… she whispered to herself, though deep down, she knew it wouldn’t be that easy.

Meanwhile, in the VIP suite, Adrian stirred slowly on the bed. The sunlight pierced his eyes as he blinked and opened his eyes.
His head throbbed painfully, the dull ache from the previous night settling in. As he sat up, he immediately noticed something was off.
He looked around the room, his gaze was sharp despite the lingering fog from last night’s alcohol.
The bed was messy, the sheets twisted and crumpled, but one thing stood out. He didn’t remember everything.
Then it hit him, in flashes, he had been with someone, but the details were hazy. The face eluded him, blurred in his memory. He pressed a hand to his temple, groaning softly. “Jees…” he muttered.
He swung his legs over the side of the bed and noticed his jacket lying neatly folded on the nightstand. He picked it up, straightening it as his mind went back .
Across the room, two empty wine glasses and a bottle rested on the table by the couch. He frowned, recognizing the same brand he had been drinking last night. The realization stirred something in him, someone had been here, with him, but his memory remained stubbornly incomplete.
Just then, his phone rang sharply on the nightstand, breaking his thoughts. He reached for it, picking up the sleek device.
Then a familiar voice of his assistant came through immediately.
“Hello, sir. Everyone is already at the board meeting waiting for you.”
Adrian ran a hand through his hair, groaning softly. “Oh, okay. I’ll be there soon,” he said, in a husky voice, and hung up, placing the phone back on the nightstand with a soft thud.
He stood and stretched briefly, then walked toward the bathroom. The memory of last night remained foggy, but the lingering sense of disorientation kept him on edge.
As he turned on the shower, he ran a hand over his face, trying to push the alcohol and confusion away. Who was here? he wondered, glancing at the nightstand again.
Then he stepped into the bathroom, with the cool tiles sending a shiver up his spine. Water cascaded over him as he bathed.
Soon, he finished his shower and wrapped a towel around his waist, and stared at the empty bottles across the couch as he entered the walk back to the room.
A frown crossed his face. He couldn’t remember clearly, but the situation demanded answers. Whoever she was, she had vanished, and that absence irritated him, even as he prepared for the day ahead.
With a final glance at the messy bed and the remnants of last night, he picked up his phone again. Something happened… and I need to find out what, he thought grimly.
As he dressed quickly, tension coiled in his chest, and he muttered under his breath, “I’ll figure this out… soon.”
