Chapter Six The days crawled by and still Admon was stuck spending his days at court. Too young and self-absorbed to think beyond the borders of my own existence, I gave little thought to the broader and more sinister implications. I was too busy trying to entertain myself and avoid going mad with boredom. My days were spent outside as much as possible in the walled gardens of the manse, which were the limit of my freedom. I climbed trees, studied the plants and herbs, practiced my stealth skills by stalking the gardeners, and generally made a nuisance of myself.
