Chapter Twelve The following afternoon, I waited in Admon’s study. Although I suspected he wasn’t going to arrive when I found the room empty, I sat down and stubbornly waited. Surely Admon had not forgotten. With a young man’s arrogance, I assumed that any matter of such importance to me must also be of utmost importance to Admon. What could possibly be more important than finding my mother’s killer? But as the sun traveled across the sky into the west, and the shadows in the study lengthened, Admon still did not arrive.
