When Eyes First Met

Nurse: "Oh—Doctor, look!" Doctor (stunned): "What?! That’s… that’s a miracle… She… she’s breathing again. She’s alive!" --- A Few Days Later “Oh no, not again!” I groaned, rushing around my room in a frenzy. “I’m so late—I’m seriously going to miss class this time!” I grabbed my bag, flung the door open, and bolted outside. “Run, Girlie, run!” I muttered to myself. “If I’m late again, Ma’am won’t just deduct grades—she’ll reject my project too!” I sprinted toward college like a bullet train, barely managing to tie my shoelaces mid-run. Just as I turned the corner near campus—BAM! I crashed right into someone. My body jolted forward, and before I knew it, we were both on the ground. “Ahhh!” I winced, rubbing my elbow. My eyes widened as I looked up. A boy was on top of me. His eyes met mine—deep, intense, and mesmerizing. For a moment, the world went still. We just… looked at each other. He was beautiful. Almost unreal. “I-I’m sorry!” he stammered, his voice soft, and offered his hand to me. “No, it’s my fault—I was the one running,” I said quickly, grabbing his hand and standing up. Without another word, I dashed off toward my class. But as I ran, one thought lingered. Where have I seen him before...? I reached just in time and collapsed into my seat, catching my breath. A moment later, the professor walked in—with someone beside her. “Good morning, everyone,” she began. “We have a new student joining our class. Please welcome him.” I looked up and—there he was. The same boy. “This is Auren,” the professor said. “Auren, you can take a seat.” He walked down the aisle and sat behind me. My heart skipped a beat. It’s him. But why does he feel so familiar...? --- After class, I made my way to the library to find a new book. The peaceful silence of bookshelves greeted me. And then I saw him again—leaning against a wall, reading. He wore a soft brown shirt with rolled-up sleeves and jeans. He looked calm… focused… kind of poetic. I smiled. “Hey.” He looked up and smiled back. “Hey.” I turned away, scanning the shelves for my book. It was on the top shelf—great. I stood on my toes, stretching, hopping a little, but I couldn’t reach it. I felt my hair falling over my face as I kept trying, huffing and swiping it back again and again. He saw her tying to reach to book... He looked at her open hair along her face with long frock as she was jumping her hair disturbing her whom she was siding repeadlly...He again smiled to saw her tying and he reached to the level and gave the book to her. Suddenly, a hand reached up beside me and pulled the book down effortlessly. I turned—It was Auren. “Oh! Thank you!” I said, smiling at him. He nodded. “You’re welcome.” Wait… “Hey, now I remember! You’re the same guy from the bus station, right? We met at the library that day too!” He gave a shy smile. “Yeah… you remember.” “What? Then why didn’t you say anything in class earlier?” “I… I didn’t know what to say,” he said, glancing away shyly. I laughed softly. “We keep meeting by coincidence—first the bus station, then the library, then class, and now here again. Don’t you think it’s a sign?” He blinked. “A sign for… what?” I smirked. “I don’t know… maybe we’re meant to be something?” His cheeks flushed, and he let out a nervous chuckle. “Something like… ?” I extended my hand. “Friends?” He hesitated just a second before shaking it. “Yeah… friends.” “I’m Aurelia Willow,” I introduced with a grin. “I’m Auren Vale,” he replied softly. I tilted my head. “Why do you look so scared?” “I’m not,” he said quickly, turning his face away again. “Really?” I laughed. “You’re like a cute nervous bunny!” He laughed along, more relaxed now. “So, how come you joined our college?” I asked. “My dad got transferred here,” he said. “So I moved.” “Ohh… I don’t live very close either. That’s why I’m always running late!” We both laughed. In that moment, it felt like the whole world melted away—it was just us. The kind of moment you never want to end. But class called, so we walked together, still laughing as we entered. And then—thud! I bumped into someone again. “Ouch! What the hell?!” the girl snapped, brushing herself off. “I—I’m so sorry, I didn’t see—wait… you?!” ---
