“Look… you don’t have to be nice. With everything on the table now… I understand if you would rather reject me and go home. I doubt anyone would blame you.” I tried to keep a straight face, but the pain in my chest would not allow me to stop crying. Snot began to drip out my nose as the ugly crying took over. At that point, I could no longer control it. I waited for his rejection, but it never came.
