Remorse

Severus a 16 years boy with Blonde Hair and Fair skin having a Fabulous smile and a small Dimple on his right cheek. Brown Eyes in which you can easily see lots and lots of dreams.

Severus is a middle-class kid whose mother is working as Maid in 4-5 houses to earn and Dad work as Security Guard in Township near his home.

Severus lives in Middle-class Family but he always wanted to be And live like higher Class people he used to see; He was very attracted to the lifestyle followed by rich people. He was oftentimes talking this with his mother that he also wants to live that, he also wants to be rich, He wants to ride a car, he wants to use those expensive game toys, he also wants to wear branded clothes, He wants to go to malls and want to eat burger and pizza and other fast foodstuffs every day.

His mother told him lots of time that be rich by heart not only money, Clothes should be clean not Branded, Food should be tasty, not expensive, Games should be joyful but not Expensive but Severus was just a kid who isn’t gonna understand this terms at this age. But God had planned something great to make Severus understand these things.

About a week after as usual Severus was playing in the Ground with James and Rob his two best friends. James was Blonde haired boy with a chubby body and cute smile and Blue Eyes. He was very Approachable to anyone new. His both parents were factory workers. Rob was black hair guy but he never had Eyebrows only, his parents tried for lots of treatments as per their capacity but nothing worked and they weren’t able to afford bigger treatments as they were factory workers as well along with James's parents.

Suddenly someone shouted from the gate of the Playground,” James we need to go, Grandma isn’t well. Also Rob your mum is looking for you, you must go there first.”They look at Severus and said in one tone,” “Bye-bye Seve, You should go home as well or you will be bored” and they left running. Severus wasn’t willing to go home as he wanted to play more. He was thinking about what to do and from nowhere a football came to his face and hit him hard very heavily that he fell off on the ground .before he can understand what happened to him 3 boys came to him and helped him to lift himself from the ground. They asked him for water and one out of them started talking, “I am sorry buddy, the fault is all mine that I kicked this ball without even seeing that you are standing there and it hit you before I can shout you to move. An apology is on me; please forgive me.” “ Don’t apologize, It’s all okay I’m all fine” Severus said while standing on his feet again. “Why don’t you come to play with us? We will feel great and not guilty to hit you” one of the 3 boys said and all laughed together. “ Pleasure is all mine,” said Severus with all of the manners to show today only. They all went to Play and had a nice time together. Severus felt awesome being with them. At the time of leaving 4 of them came together again. One of 3 boys said, “You play Buddy, You play for any Club or what??...” before he can finish his question another boy said, “shut up ya Jhonny, just because you play for Pheonix you always want to show it off everywhere, I can bet he must be somewhere great as well that’s why he is that great player. Am I right buddy? You didn’t tell us your name only yet?” Severus just lost himself by firing of these questions and what to answer about it. However, he gathered his lost confidence and said, “I’m Severus and You?” He just tried to ignore questions about the club and all. One of that 3 boys said, “Hi Severus I’m Amit, We have shifted here last here as Dad expanded his business here he wants to set it up by himself so we all came here with him.” The second boy came forward and said, “ I’m Steve Harris, My house is on the next lane sector 27. You must have known Richard harris the business tycoon here, he is my Dad.” 3rd boy came forward then and said, “I’m Jhonny buddy, My Dad is CEO for Stephens and company and I live just here in that tower (pointing towards biggest skyscraper), And I play for Pheonix Club. For which club you play for ha?” “ Oh man this question again, what should I answer?” Severus said in his mind. “ tell me no, Come on Severus”. Jhonny insisted again. “ I play for MIGHTY STORMS” Severus replied and then realized that he had messed up as Mighty Storm is one of the highest-ranked clubs in the township and just for admission it would take all that his family has at this point. “I had told you, He is awesome and of course cause, he is at Mighty Storms. Haha,” Steve said. Jhonny said, “ Wow man, I tried twice there but couldn’t make it, Your dad must have great contacts than mine. Where you live by the way and what’s your dad do? Must be a businessman and that is why he has this much contact, am I right??”

Severus was under so much pressure he never before. He was in the storm of thoughts continuously. He was thinking what should I tell them now? Should I tell the truth? but what if they don’t like it and never took me with them ever again? Should I tell them a lie but what if they found out the truth from somewhere? Should I keep my image at this point in front of them? YES YES, that’s right!! I should keep my image here.

And Severus replied, “Yes...Yes, my Dad has a business of textiles and I Live just near that Bungalow .” “ It’s time for Dad to come home and I should be there or he will be angry. We both are going to Mall tonight for pizza. See you guys tomorrow!!” He waved his hand and left away running as fast as he can. He reached the door of his Home without almost no breath and asked mom for water. Mother asked him what happened? Severus was again in thoughts that should he tell mother about what happened? Naaa....it’s not that important to tell!!! I can handle it on my own!! “Nothing Mother I just played too much soccer today.!!” Mother asked surprisingly, “ with whom? I saw James and Rob earlier at their home” “ With my new friends !!” Severus replied Awkwardly and ran into the house to wash his hand and feet.

Later on that night Severus was thinking continuously about ‘how he needs to behave in front of them all? How does he need to dress? How does he need to talk? How he can match their level? How he can be eligible to be them?’ He was thinking about different tactics and ideas to use, he was planning different lies about different situations for example this happens then I will say this so it will look normal, or I will do that so it will look normal. And he fell asleep by thinking this only that night. He was very excited about the next day, excited to meet his new friends.

Severus woke up early than usual the next day, He has neatly done all his daily morning routines by taking care that nothing will make him late today. He went to college and returned on time. And After doing homework; he left for the playground. This day he again met his new friends, they had fun together, they played a lot, they exchanged some of their thoughts and tried to understand each other more. Days were going great for Severus. As he had imagined and planned things were going the same like when they ask Severus why doesn’t wear frames? or why doesn’t he use a watch as they do? He used to answer, “ I do use those things but my dad is a very strict person and you guys know how businessmen are, right? They keep count of every single thing. Last time I had broken my G-Shock while playing so he kept me waiting for 3 months to get a new one, that’s why I don’t wear any of those while playing or very often. But I have those, I do have. I will show you someday.!!” And after he tries to change the subject always so no one will get a chance to ask much more about it.

All was going very very well until this day. After playing soccer all four of them sat on the ground for relaxing. Jhonny suddenly said, “I have an Idea guy, we are meeting for a long time with Seve, right?” All nodded as Yes. Jhonny Continues, “ So we must invite him to our Houses to play PlayStation, what say?” “Excellent Idea brother,” said Steve and continued, “I just bought PS6 and it’s awesome man. Which one you have seve?” “I.......I have 5th one for now but I’m also taking 6th very soon” Severus replied with shame on his face. “So decided on this Saturday we all are meeting at Steve’s house sharp at 5:00 PM. All ready?” said Jhonny. All nodded as Yes.

They all were just about to leave and very sudden someone shouted from the another side of the road, “ Severus come on dear, Dad is waiting for you!!” It was his Mother but Severus was just Shocked and was watching without moving; just staring towards her. She again repeated her sentence and waved him in the gesture of let’s go. He gave her a gesture of yes and looked at his friends. Jhonny asked, “ Who is she seve? Is she working at our house as a maid? She comes to my house as well. She is a nice Woman” Severus was frightened by listening to this. He was blank and don’t know what to answer now. Jhonny asked again, “ Right Severus? She works at your house as well?” Severus gathered all his bravery and said, “ Yes.....She is a maid at my Bungalow as well!” And he left without any other Word. He didn’t realize what he has done, he just left.

After day by day, this incident began to faint from Severus’s mind and he started to forget about it. The next-Day was Saturday, This day they were going to Steve’s home to play PS6. He took new pair of his Shoes, he chose his new shirt and pant. Kept it ironed for the next day. Polished his shoes. He was ready and very Excited. And the day came it was 4:30 In the evening and as per discussion they met at the playground. Steve came a little upset, you can tell from his face very easily. Jhonny said, “What happened Steve? Why are you so upset?” Steve replied very slowly, “The Pest Control man, it’s going to happen today only so we can’t sit inside to play, even we family members are going out today for dinner cause of this.” Jhonny replied energetically, “ This only? We can sit at my home. I forget to tell you guys but I have bought a PS6 as well last week.” All came to normal and a cute smile came on Steve’s face. They all left for Jhonny’s home together.

Finally at Jhonny’s home. Severus was stunned by watching it. He was Amazed most of the cause he has never seen this big house from inside. He has only seen this on the television and in movies and now it’s in front of his eyes. The mother of Jhonny approached everyone and made them feel welcome. She asks the servant to give water to everyone and to pour orange juice for everyone. Severus was on the 7th cloud. The treatment, the lifestyle, all his dreams he has begun to live now. Jhonny started introducing everyone, “ This is Steve. you know him already Mom, This is Amit. Last time we met him at the restaurant with his Dad you remember? And This is Severus our new friend. His dad is in the textiles business.” Jhonny’s Mom greeted all. The servant came with Juice. Jhonny’s mom asks the servant to give it to everyone sitting. “ Give it to everyone, Boys don’t hesitate, This all are new friends of Jhonny Martha. This Severus, the newest friend his dad is in-text......” before she can complete her sentence Jhonny said, “ They know each other mom, Martha auntie works at Severus’s Bungalow as well, right Severus?” Severus was shocked, ashamed, and frightened together by holding juice in one hand and watching it as his mother was serving it. And as soon as she listened that Martha worked at Severus’s Bungalow a drop of tear fell from her cheek but she controlled herself and said, “ Yes ...Yes I know him for a very long time now.” And she went inside. Severus was in total shame and guilt that what he have done. They all went inside Jhonny’s room to play PS6. Time passed like nothing while they were playing inside, Jhonny’s mom insisted everyone stay for dinner, she is cooking special today.

All came to the dinner table after playing and sat on chairs. Jhonny’s dad was there too as it was late in the evening. Jhonny’s mom asked the servant to serve everyone. Severus was looking for his Mother. Jhonny’s mom noticed, “what happened Severus? Can I help you with something? Whom you are looking for?” Severus replied sobbing, “Moth.......I mean Martha, auntie? She left or what?” “Yes, she did.” Jhonny’s mom replied. Jhonny’s Father interpreted, “He knows Martha? How ?” Jhonny’s mom replied, “She works at his home as well. And look like he is very attached to her. She also said she knows him and his family for a long time so understandable, right?” Jhonny’s father took the conversation from there, “She is a nice Woman, even at our home, we can’t do a lot of things without her. She never takes sudden Off, She is very Workaholic. So many times we left our Home on her but she never messed with anything. You remember that day I left 5000 dollars in my jacket and almost forgot about it but she gave it all back to me and even when I asked her for a reward for that she reduced and asked me one small thing” rested sentence there to drink some water. Even was in total conversation, Jhonny’s mom asked surprised, “what did she ask for?” Jhonny’s father replied, “ She said her son wants to sit in a car once and also wants to eat pizza. Just do these 2 things and I will be grateful for you for my whole life. I must tell you her son should be very proud of her that he has this true, honest, working with great culture and sacrament. Her children will be very big people in the future. even I tell you I see my mom sometime in her and see where I am today.” He stopped by wiping his tears.

But Severus cannot stop himself. He was in a total Ocean of tears. He realized what he has done. How his mom is feeling at this time. He is the worst son on this planet right now. The person who loves him the most on the entire of this earth he felt ashamed of her? How could he? How could he not see her mother's feeling? Severus started crying loudly; and before anyone can ask him anything he stood and ran away from the door. He was gone into self-analysis about what he had done. He was asking himself. It was like standing in front of the mirror. He was asking himself, how could you do this? how are you gonna face mother now? How are you gonna tell her why you did this? For the thing, the image, the lifestyle all those things do matters more than Mother? If I get all now and not the mother will I choose all those things? No, I can’t..... Mother is everything. I don’t want this image, I don’t want this lifestyle. All I want is a hug from my mother. And he stopped at the door of his home. He opened the door and saw the mother sitting inside full of tears. He ran to his mother said, “mother I am sorry, I did the worst thing anyone can do. Please Forgive me. I will never do the same thing again and will not be ashamed of what we are. I will take a lot and Lot of effort and I will achieve what I want instead of just pretending it.” And he started to cry a lot.

Mother came to him, wiped his tears, and said, “It is a very good thing that you understand it on yourself but I was not crying cause of this instead I was cutting Onion that’s why tears came out.” And she hugged him very tightly. Severus also hugged his mother but inside he knew this time that tears weren’t because of Onion but instead of just saying he will prove by action that he meant everything he said.

The next day evening Severus took his mother and bring her to the playground. Severus coming with Martha seeing everyone approached him and asked what happened? Severus Saïd, “ Guys I want to confess to you all that This is my Mother, she works as a maid in various houses and my dad is a security guard at the township here. And I’m not rich as you all are, I just wanted to keep with you guys in this and that’s why I said all that lies. But not anymore, I’m not ashamed of who I am and I am proud of myself and I AM PROUD OF MY PARENTS.!! Now if you guys don’t want to keep friendship with me it’s fine totally.” And he holds the hand of her mother and started to go away from there but suddenly a had come on his shoulder and voice came, “Hey stupid fellow, we are not friends because of money I guess, what happened if you are not in MIGHTY STORMS? You are still that good player who can kick Steve’s a*s and I will kick Yours. My name is Jhonny!! remember always and you will be very rich in the future we believe in you so stop crying like a baby and come for soccer!!”
