Chapter 8: Will you marry me?

896 Words
"Will you marry me?" I asked him. Yes... I DID. Why? Because I am prepared to do anything to kill those bastards. Also, I have nothing to lose. I will be joining yakuza anyway.  Toshi-nii's jaw would make a hole in the floor if that could be possible and Kurotsu-san's face is priceless. His mouth is gape open, eyes wide and a question mark on his face. Kurotsu-san then started laughing with his sexy, husky voice and Toshi-nii looked at him with even more shock in his eyes. I swear he can be such an airhead.  "Look at that. I never thought a woman would propse to me." he said while chuckling.  I just sat there expecting an answer. Actually my heart is beating faster and ckeeks hotter. Let's be honest I just proposed to a stranger. Although, sexy stranger.  "Well?" I asked leaning in my chair from embarrassment.  This is not how I expected my engagement.  "Right. *cough* That was my proposition to you. Our marriage would bring benefits to both of us." He said calming down and using his professional tone.  "I know. That is why I proposed this contract to you." I said with my cheeks warming up.  I also poposed because in yakuza wifes are respected and the couple can't divorce so my position is secured.  "I appreciate the commitment but there are some rules we would need to discuss before that." He said smirking.  I swear if someone could die from embarassment I would be deeper than 6 feet under ground.  "Alright. Go ahead." I said trying to remain calm.  "Rule number one: You cannot ask for a divorce, do you know that?" He asked and I nodded my head.  "Rule number two: we will not interfere in each other's personal affairs unless it will impact the group. Rule number three: You will not expect me to love you and I will do the same. Rule number four: We will share the bed at least once a month. I will need an heir. Is everything clear?" He said looking at his laptop this time.  To be honest it does sound pretty rational. I thought it would be the same as the ridiculous contract, which still applies.  " Yes. Everything is clear. Could I ask you to hold the sakazukigoto ceremony after the wedding?" (A/N: 'sakazukigoto' is a ceremony held to welcome new members. New member and leader drink sake cups. Literally it is like father 'oyabun' adopting a child 'kobun'.) "Of course. We don't want it to look like I am marrying my daughter." he scrunches his nose as he says that.  Yeah... I don't like the idea either.  "And... What kind of tattoo will I be getting?" I asked a little hesitant.  He looked at me a little bit suprised.  "A black dragon holding a hanakotoba flower on the back." He said looking back at what he was doing. (A/N: Hanakotoba flower means 'death' in Japan)  "Can I... Can I have it on my torso and chest with a slight change?" I asked unsure of his reaction.  He looked irritated. No wonder. Yakuza/group tattoos are very important to the members and leader as it shows that you give your sould and body to the group, and bond in one with other members. .  "Why on the front? And what changes?" He asked.  "I have scars on the back, also it will have a deeper meaning to me as it will be close to my heart" I said putting a hand on my chest where the heart is, slightly smiling.  To be honest the last part was to convince him.  "Alright. And the changes?"  "I would like to have the dragon to look a bit more like a phoenix." I said.  "Why?" He asked. He seemed actually interested.  I was hesitant to answer that. But if I want to convince him, it would be best to say the truth.  "My... My mother always told me that we are like a phoenix. We burn out and turn into ashes, but we reborn stronger than before. I want everyone to know that I will fall, but reborn stronger." I said with passion. Remembering my mother caused my eyes to shed some tears falling down my cheek. But I am very proud of my mother. She fought till the very end- "I agree." his sentence brought me back to reality.  I smiled at him, wiping my tears with the back of my hand and sniffing.  "Thank you." I said genuinely and he nodded.  "I am wondering... How come you know so much about Japan and it's traditions?" He asked placing his chin on folded arms, elbows on the table and leaning forward a little.  SHIT! I forgot to hold my tongue... Ok. Ok... I did a reasearch... Yes!  "You see... I... I did a bit of research about Japan since I am stuck in the country. And thought it would be best to revise a bit." I whispered.  Ever since I've met this man I've been lying like a child convincing parents he didn't eat the candy. I did my research on Japan, BEFORE I came here.  He looks at me a bit suspicious as I look at him from underneath my long lashes... God, I hope he brought it.  "We will have a Shinto-style wedding next week. Everything will be prepared. Few days after that will be the sakazukigoto ceremony. You will get the tattoo whenever you are ready." He informed me with the same cold tone.  I sigh and nod. Well... Let the plan start. (A/N: Shinto style wedding is a traditional Japanese wedding held in a temple.)
