Our meeting

Gillian’s POV I looked at myself in the mirror closely, I had just finished putting on my makeup and everything just seemed to be on point. Father had insisted that I should be the one to see Mason so I agreed and today was the day. His secretary had sent all the details to father so after this, I was going to see him get where I was meeting Mason. I tied my hair behind; I wore black pants, a black top, and a light pink blazer which was covering my bottom and a gold necklace. I put on my Louis Vuitton stilettos and I took out Louis Vuitton Handbag and checked my make up for the last time before I walked out of my room. I made my way to father’s study where he was, I knocked once waiting for him to allow me to enter “Come in!” He said after I stood there for some minutes. “Am ready to go!” I said to him pursing my lips together, He got an envelope and threw it on the table. “Give him that! He will give you another envelope, make sure you sign it” He said to me without looking at me, I swallowed hard as I went closer picking up the envelope, I fought back the tears that threatened to fall from my eyes as I walked out of the room. I made my way to my car and drove away even as I was driving, I was thinking of how I will convince him to invest in my father’s company, I was hoping if I managed hopefully my father and mother might actually be proud of me. I pulled over in front of the restaurant as I parked nicely the car, I checked myself in the mirror before I stepped out of the car fixing myself, unlike Ariel my body was not the model type of body. I weighed about 80kgs with a height of 5’8, I had hazel eyes, chestnut hair, and a round face. I made my way to the reception as I went to ask for our table, “Good evening Ma’am” She smiled brightly at me as I arrived “Reservation for Mr. Sullivan,” I said to her and she turned to look at the computer “Well, It’s table 16. Right at the far end on your left. He will show you to the table” She said to me her smile not fading as she let a waiter walk me to the table “Thank you so much!” I said smiling at her before I turned going to the table, I arrived at the table and it was empty he was not yet there. I made myself comfortable as I waited for him “Anything you would like to order?” He asked me as I shook my head “No thank you. I will order later” I said to him, he left me alone as I continued waiting for Mason I waited for him for some minutes, minutes turned into an hour. I didn’t have his number so I was just playing on my phone instead. I looked at my phone feeling embarrassed as people would look at me awkwardly, I wanted to call father but I knew he would shout at me. “Good evening! You must be Gina?” I had a voice say, I looked up and it was Mason Sullivan. He was tall, dark, and handsome one would mistake him for a god. He had his hair pushed back and his face well shaven. “It’s Gillian, Hello Mr. Sullivan,” I said to him about to stand up extending my hand and he sat done with shaking my hand as he looked at me from top to down throwing the envelope, he had on the table “The envelope?” He said to me sitting back, just looking at him it was intimidating I quickly pulled it out and handed it to him “Thank you so much! For taking time to come, I wanted to talk about the new product, if only you could think of trying it and then think about investing, I can assure….” I started saying when he opened the enveloping checking and closing the envelope, Looking at me “Did you read what’s in this envelope?” He asked me as I shook my head. “I see! Gina!” He called me “It’s Gillian,” I said correcting him as he exhaled looking at me I would advise you open that envelope and check what’s inside” He said to me as I steadily got the envelope to check what is it, he was talking about/ “What’s this?” I asked him as I looked at him “It’s a prenup, between you and me…. Didn’t your father tell you anything?” He asked me making me frown as I went to check everything, he was telling the truth “Prenup, As in prenuptial?” I asked in shock as I looked at him “That can’t be! There must be something wrong!” I said to him panicking “Listen here! I didn’t come here to listen to you about what’s wrong or not! Just sign the document and I will be on my way” He said as I swallowed hard “Am sorry I can’t sign this!” I said to him pushing the document to him “Firstly, I don’t want this marriage neither do I need it but I just have to. Secondly, you are not the type of woman I would settle with I would have any type of woman if wanted today, women with great bodies that just turn me on looking at them but I just have to marry you in order to save my inheritance. In our world am sure you know we don’t marry for love so I would advise you to think carefully before refusing to sign those documents” He said to me, he looked at me from head to toe before he walked away leaving me with the document. I Rolled my eyes trying to fight off my tears from all the hateful he had said to me, he said everything in a calm tone but it sounded to hateful. I grabbed the documents, leaving the restaurant, the man came an hour late, didn’t apologize or even greet me but here he was saying we were about to get married. I drove as face as I could to the residency. I pulled over in seconds and made my way inside, I was in such a hurry that I didn’t see that father had people in his office “marriage? Couldn’t you even think of letting me know that you were selling me off in place of your wealth?” I yelled at him as tears fell from my eyes as I waved the document in my hands. He walked up to me without responding he slapped me hard that I felt my lip tear. I heard gasps in the room as I lifted my head placing a hand on my right cheek looking at him “Will you get out of here? Where are your manners?” He yelled at me as tears fell from my eyes. “I apologize for my daughter’s behavior,” He said turning to the side that’s when I noticed Mason and his parents sitting there. What time did he get here? “Forgive me!” I stammered saying as tears fell from my eyes, I blinked back as I rushed out of the room in my heels as I went to my car. I wanted to open the door to get in when someone stopped me “You shouldn’t drive in your state!” He said as I looked at him tears falling from my eyes, Mason what was he doing here. “Get out of my way!” I said to him but he didn’t even move… “Fine! You can stay here!” I said to him as I wanted to move away when Ariel came out in her skimpy clothes. I looked at her briefly looking at Mason pleadingly to let me get in the car. “Hello! Am Ariel, have we met before?” She said extending her hand smiling widely at him “No, we haven’t. Please excuse me!” He said as he grabbed my hand pulling me to the passenger seat. “Stay still!” He said to me going to the driver’s seat, “What are you doing?” I panicked as he started the car “You wanted to run away, am helping you!” He said as he stepped on the accelerator increasing the speed “Hey, I said stop the car!” I yelled at him hoping he would stop but he went on “Hey, you!” I shouted as he immediately hit the brakes making me hit my head on the dashboard of the car. “Ouch!” I winced in pain holding my forehead, “What the f**k?” I yelled at him “I am not always friendly so I will give you some advice, don’t ever try to ruin my plans understood? I hate this marriage as much as you do but our parents have decided and that’s what’s going to happen, I will see you at the engagement party” He said as he got out of the car, hailing for a cab. I felt the warm tears hit my face as I closed my eyes. my parents traded my freedom like some commodity.
