Evan held Paige's shaking body until at last her shock subsided and her heart rate returned to normal. She fell into a deep sleep, and he was tempted to join her, but he had to find Jack. They had a body in the woods and it couldn't stay there. He kissed Paige and then stood to get dressed.
Colin sat up slowly so that he didn't wake Paige and followed suit. He still had no idea what happened, only that it was shattering. It was bad enough to almost kill Paige and to turn Evan into a man he'd never even met before. He was calm, cool, and collected even though something devastating had occurred.
