Jake's POV
Three years earlier...
School has started and I am beyond excited about the first day of school. It has been almost a week since I have been back in Washington and a week since I have last seen Maddie. We've texted a few times, but she has been busy with the arrangements of her move here.
I've missed her more than I can put into words. After some deep a*s thinking, I realized that I am in love with Maddie. After a month of friendship, and two months of dating, I can't fathom the thought of her being away from me. I don't want her to stay away from me, like ever.
She makes me feel alive. Hell, she's got me excited on the first day of school. I haven't seen a teenager ever excited about going.
"Jake! You'll be late." My mother yelled from downstairs.
