Grace wasn't getting anywhere with her inquiry so she let it drop. She had the distinct feeling she had been singled out for some unknown reason. It was a little unsettling that the Bear would not answer her questions directly. She knew who would possibly have some answers and she shared a tent with her.
That evening there was a bonfire and the students got to eat hot dogs and ice cream. It was still a mystery how the cooks got ice cream in the valley during the summer. There was a lot of singing by the students and some music played by the adults. It seemed that all the adults either played a musical instrument or sang. The Raven played a fife and then his lute. The Wolverine sang in a clear soprano voice. The Bear played a small guitar and sang in his native language.
