Wolf dedicated himself to his classes with a vengeance. There were only so many hours in a day to study and he had tremendous responsibilities. These included taking care of Nudge his horse, and helping with Pinto Bean, Easy Rider, and Mary. He saw to see to the needs of Shadow, his wolf. Shadow did not actually belong to him, but bore responsibility for him. He constantly worked with Shadow to keep him happy around humans. Shadow could easily survive in the woods around the school but if he strayed away from the school he could also easily be killed by some farmer or hunter.
Wolf made time everyday to work with Dr. Lundie, the school veterinarian and together they built upon what he had learned from Oúre, the medicine man. They had to work fast because the medicines and potions Wolf had
