The CEO Is Mad

“What’s my favorite food?” Marky asked casually, keeping his cool while driving. “Uhhhh…” Cresia was caught off guard by the question, but she still answered it. “Pasta and shrimp.” “Favorite sports?” “Boxing and, if it is considerable, shooting.” “Hobby?” “Swimming and working out.” “When do you know that I am angry?” “If you ask me for your gun, go to the shooting range.” “And when I am happy?” “Receiving and signing contracts with the companies you desire to have partnerships with.” Marky stopped asking questions and licked his front teeth, realizing everything. After that, he smirked and thought about something. Because there were no follow-up questions, Cresia regarded her phone again and texted the significant person she is texting. From: Vince I am already here at the restaurant. Where are you? To: Vince Already near. I am with my boss because he also has dates. From: Vince Really? Then you can have your date and also work. You are amazing, huh? Cresia blushed and kept her smile hidden. She texted back. To: Vince Shut up. Vince is her colleague since her freshman college days. He confessed to her when they were sophomores and decided to pursue her. Cresia also liked him, but she refused to have romantic relationships with anyone… at first. Although being barricaded by the conservative personality of Cresia, Vince never stopped courting her even though they already had jobs. “We’re here,” Cresia said and unbuckled her seatbelt. “Come on, sir.” “Wait-” But before Marky could stop her from going outside the car after they have parked in the lot, Cresia has already her eyes inside the restaurant to spot the rich, elegant, and gorgeous lady. Her face lit up when she saw Vince waving beside the table of the lady Marky will date. “Ms. Montenegro-” Marky almost called his secretary when he went outside but he was again interfered. “Mr. Cervantes, there is your date,” Cresia said and pointed her finger inside the restaurant. “I will casually escort you to her and I will be beside your table. Don’t worry. I am one call away if you need anything.” Marky clenched his jaw due to impatience when Cresia stepped aside again to make him precede her. She smiled widely as she walked towards the restaurant. Her eyes remained at the table where Vince is looking at her. She felt her cheeks heating up when Vince simply looked from her head to foot. Her sweet neckline dress was red which fitted the curves of her body. She wore a golden necklace, a pair of circled earrings, and black heels that she got last week. She was indeed beautiful while her forehead is high and her aura so powerful beside Marky. The lady stood up when she saw Marky and Cresia winked at her. She slightly pushed Marky in front of the rich lady so that he will know that it was the first date. She then proceeded to Vince who is waiting for her hug. “Hi, Cresia,” he greeted and embraced her. “You are still beautiful as always.” “That is so sweet of you, Vince,” Cresia said and released him. “I am so sorry if this is the only time I got to see you.” “Well, that is okay. We are both busy and all, so I can understand,” Vince said and boyishly grinned. “Have a seat please.” Cresia could not hide her huge smile as Vince guided her to sit on the left dining chair, where she could see the frowning face of Marky on the other side of the table. When she sat, she noticed that the lady was expressing her enthusiasm as she talks to the Chief Executive Director, but Marky was unattentive and his eyes were glaring at Cresia. Okay? Why is he staring at her like that? Did she do something wrong? “So, how is your grandmother, Cresia? Is her health well?” Cresia avoided her gaze from her boss and regarded Vince who was already in front of her. She composed herself and just savored the time with him. This is the only time they could talk because of their working schedules, so she has to make time. The whole day, she made sure that all of the women on the list will attend Marky. Of course, she would not let anything go wrong, so she constantly checks on him. When they were already finished and seized the day, Cresia bid her goodbye to Vince and promised the next time they will have. “Ho! That was tiring!” Cresia commented as she went inside Marky’s car. “So, Mr. Cervantes, have you picked a woman for you?” Even though she knew Marky heard her, he continued pursing his lips and turning his car’s engine. She waited for an answer, but he only ignored her. His eyebrows were not furrowed, his face so calm as the pristine sea, and his shoulders were not tensed. His eyes, though, were dead and cold. Oh, my goodness. Cresia realized that he is not only angry. The highest silence is anger --- that would she describe. Did one of the women upset him? What did they do to him? Was she not paying attention that much that she did not realize something was off? “Uhhh…” she mumbled in the middle of the silence as they were driving on the road. “I… I can make a new list tonight… i-if you did not like what I got for you today?” “You f*****g did not inform me that you have a damn date today,” he firmly said, every word was emphasized, as if making her understand the point. She hung her mouth as she got chills from her cold and dark voice. She gulped intensely and blinked. “I… I made it as a… an undercover,” she reasoned. “A f****d up undercover,” he cussed. “You might have thought another one, but having a date? It’s f****d up!” Cresia could not understand what he is trying to say. Is he angry that she also has a date? But why would he when his only focus is to find a wife? “I don’t understand…” she mumbled. Marky only glared at her. “You think so? Because you are too focused on your man that you forgot you are with me in that f*****g restaurant!” Oh, the curses were deep and crisp. He is mad. Very, very mad.
