3 years later…
Amelia's Pov
“I can't believe that this is happening. What could be wrong with him?” I pondered, feeling worried as I walked back and forth.
“Pumpkin, I think you really need to calm down. He's fine. It's not like you guys had a fight or something, right?” Stephanie, my best friend and roommate asked.
“No, we didn't. The last time I heard from him was a week ago. He had taken me out on a date and brought me back home. He even kissed me. We were cool.” I narrated.
“Then just calm your titties down. He'll come around okay?” She reassured me, putting on her coat.
“Fineeee, I just don't feel good about this. And then again I miss him” I whined and Stephanie rolled her eyes before coming over to pull me in for a bear hug.
“Come here, everything will be fine, okay?” She cooed, rubbing my hair soothingly as I rested in her arms.
“Thank you so much Steph. I don't know what I'd have done without you.” I mumbled.
“Oh please, you don't have to thank me. Don't worry, I'll get us some sushi on my way back, okay?” She said as we parted our hug.
“Alright. Bye. Have a lovely day.” I nodded as she picked up her bag.
“Bye, thank you and you too.” She answered as she walked out the door, heading for work.
Locking the door after her, I decided to make myself a cup of coffee. As I prepared my coffee, I couldn't help but let out a sigh.
A lot of things had changed in the past few years and for every time I remembered Beta Draven, I hoped he had peace wherever he was because his kind gesture led to my freedom.
I remember how scared I was that night yet he still stood by me and assured me that I was going to flee successfully.
Coming to the city I was more confused than ever with nowhere to stay and that was how Steph picked me up, her assistance is the only thing that made it possible for me to be here despite everything I've been through.
Over time I managed to get myself a job in a book store and along the line I even had a boyfriend. Chase. He was sweet and lovely but these days he had been acting up and I've been waving it off because I didn't want to seem desperate or insensitive.
He doesn't call as often and he replies to his text but he claims he's been ‘busy.’ Anyways, I was trying my best to not get paranoid about all this.
But that was then, it was worse now because I hadn't heard from him since the past 1 week!
His lines haven't been reachable and every means to meet him has proved abortive. It was just sad and scary at the same time. I could almost feel like he cut me off at this point.

“Hey Lia, would you like to go out for lunch later today?” Sebastian asked and I couldn't help but let out a sigh under my breath.
I was currently at work and Sebastian was one of my colleagues who somehow ended up having a soft spot for me.
Despite how much I have pushed him away and turned down his offers he keeps trying, never relenting. It was cute watching his eyes lit up whenever I walked in through the door and how he grinned from ear to ear whenever he had the chance to speak with me.
Not gonna lie, Seb was a really cute guy with emerald eyes and blonde hair, he braided it on some days while on the others he puts it up in a bun. He had a piercing on his tongue which gave him a bad boy aura but he was far from it. Though sometimes I wondered what it felt like to have his tongue slide into my mouth and explore. He was a nerd beneath the covers.
Sometimes I enjoyed watching him whine, and cutely try to get my attention but today I was just not in the mood.
“No Seb. I have other plans.” I lied through my teeth.
“Lia, please don't do this. You've been avoiding spending time with me. I thought we were friends.” He whined, putting his pink lips in a pout and if I wasn't in a bad mood, I probably would have kissed the pout away because we've randomly shared short platonic kisses on different occasions but I was more bothered at the moment and this definitely wasn't a good moment to lead him on.
“Liaaa,” he called, dragging my name on his tongue. He loved calling me that and I didn't know what to think about it.
“What is it, Seb? I'm having a bad day, can't you see?.” I groaned in frustration trying not to suppress my emotions.
“ I'm sorry, I should have figured.” He muttered and I thought he was going to walk away but instead he came closer then leaned down and placed a soft kiss on my forehead. “You'll be fine baby.” He whispered and I felt my stomach flutter, whispering a ‘thank you.’ he just nodded before walking away.
I appreciated his understanding and carried on with my work.

It was finally break time and I decided to scroll through my phone as I settled down.
Scrolling I kept seeing different updates, from Chloe getting a new phone to Tiara getting a new car. The next post was a picture of a girl's hands with a ring on it and the caption said ‘she said yes.’
Smiling and hoping that one day I'll get proposed to too.
But then something struck me, that profile seemed undoubtedly familiar.
Scrolling back to confirm, my brows drew together, my lips quivered, my breath hitched in my throat, a lump forming there, my stomach twisted in pain and my heart ached.
Sitting up straight I blinked rapidly
, still in shock at the sight before me. No, this couldn't be happening.
