CHAPTER 17

Hey guys. Sorry about the delay in the updates. I have been extremely busy with schoolwork and all. Coupled with being in my second year at university, I happen to also be in a few honours classes, meaning I have to read many readings and write lengthy papers. I barely have any "me" time and in return, you guys had to suffer for my busy schedule which I apologize for. I don't know how often I will be able to update and I will not promise you guys just to disappoint you. All I can say is whenever I get some free time, I will try to update.

Beverly's POV:

When I got home, the first thing I did was fall facedown on my bed. I needed to sleep. I was exhausted and my body ached. I needed to be well rested before Mike, Steve and Ashley shows up or else they will suspect something. As I lay on the bed my mind was clouded with Asher. I loved him, I knew I did. Being with him feels like being at home. He makes me happy. He makes me feel more beautiful than I am, and that's saying something considering I am already extremely beautiful. The fact that he loves me too is so mindblowing. I wonder what he sees in me besides my beauty. My mind also flashed to yesterday's "activities". After the night we had, I feel more reassured that he is all mine. He undid all my insecurities. I just hope it was as memorable for him as it was for me. I was beginning to think too much, I need to sleep. I shut my eyes and before I knew it, I was out like a light.

About 4 hours later, I woke up. It was about 6 am. Mike, Steve and Ashley will be in about 30mins to help me with my things as I open my stall at 7 am. I got up and went to take a quick bath then I got dressed in a light blue flared dress. I had my long luscious hair in a high ponytail. Just as I was done getting ready, the three of them came in. Mike and Steve looked a little worked out. Things must be really stressful at the east border. Ashley looked as pretty as always.

"Good morning guys", I greeted a little too cheerful. The three of them looked at me strangely.

"Good morning", they said suspiciously while looking at each other.

"Why are you so cheerful this morning?", Mike asked bluntly.

"Nothing. I guess I just woke up on the right side of the bed today", I said avoiding eye contact. I was being too obvious. Get yourself together Bev.

"Right", Ashley said as she gave me a suspicious look.

"Can we get going? We have to open the stall", I said trying to avoid them and their conversations. They shared a look and without saying anything, they helped me carry most of my stuff and we set out for my stall.

As we were on our way, they kept looking at me and I can't blame them because I can't seem to wipe the silly smile off my face. I know I'm making it very obvious that there's something going on with me but I can't seem to help it. The more I try not to think about him, the more he comes to my mind. He's going to be the death of me. Soon after we arrived at my stall, I immediately started setting things in their right places to avoid them and they seem to know that's what I'm doing because they didn't say anything to me besides staring at me and whispering to each other.

A few minutes later, people started arriving at my stall, and as always most of them were males. I ignored them like I always did, but this time it was not just because I was not interested in them, it was also because of Asher. He has completely taken my heart and I doubt I will ever be able to find another man attractive, not to talk of falling in love with someone else.

"Hello beautiful", Liam, a water Noble called out.

I sighed, "hello Liam".

He was back and I could see Mike, steve and Ashley roll their eyes. Liam is one of the biggest players in Unicorn and Dragon Kingdom. I can't count the number of girls he has been through. They are a lot and still counting. Last I heard, he was dating a nymph and a wind Noble. I'm surprised they are just two this time, it's possible he might have added one or two more to them. His family is one of the top Noble families in the kingdom. They are a generation of extremely powerful wind Nobles. A member of their family is always among the kings' advisors. However, Liam is also very powerful he just likes to pretend he isn't. I have seen him in action and I seem to be the only one that knows how good he is. He just seems to prefer spending time with girls, lavishly spending his more, flirting with anything in a skirt or dress and joking around. He has been flirting with me for a while now and I keep rejecting him but he does not seem to be able to take no for an answer. I think he sees me as a difficult task to complete since I'm pretty much the only girl to have ever rejected him.

"How can I help you today?', I asked politely.

"Go out with me", he said bluntly with a smirk that would have seemed sexy if I hadn't seen Asher's smirk.

"No", I responded just as bluntly and Ashely burst out into laughter.

Liam gave her a glare. Ashely and Liam have always been nemeses. They have a very complicated relationship. Their families have always hated each other, however, Ashley's elder sister and Liam's elder brother fell in love. They were scared about how their families would so they planned to run away, however when their families found out, they realized their long feud was affecting their children so they decided to bury the feud and got them both married. Ever since that day, they've become very friendly with each other. But Liam and Ashley hate each other. They can't stand each other's presence.

"I wonder why someone as special and beautiful as Beverly will want to hang around someone as crazy as you", Liam said.

"I wonder why someone as amazing as Beverly will want to keep tolerating someone as senseless as you", Ashley responded.

"Why do you guys keep dragging me into your conversation?", I chimed in.

Liam rolled his eyes at Ashley, picked up my hand and gave me a kiss, "I'll see you later beautiful", he said as he left.

"Are you sure you don't like him?", Mike teased Ashely as we all laughed and she gave him a glare.

After things got settled, we got back to work and I kept looking at the time till I see Asher again.
