Chapter 2

Early in the morning the next day, I was getting ready to go to the market where I have a stall. I basically sell some of my weavings and my homemade pies. Then in midday, I have to go to one of the wind noble's houses, where I work as a maid. As I stepped outside, I saw my three best friends waiting for me: Mike, a shapeshifter and warrior/ ex-protector, James, a water nymph and also warrior/ protector and then Ashley, a fire noble (never spook her in a place surrounded by dry leaves. She nearly set us on fire!!!)
So how I became friends with them is surprising since I am just a commoner. Mike's story is, at the age of 13, the symbol of the Royal he is bonded to didn't appear, so he was sent to my kingdom. He is ordinarily from the Peacock kingdom and since my kingdom had a good relationship with them, he was made a warrior in order to defend the village. James, however, did have the symbol of the Royal he is bonded to. Anytime I ask him why he isn't with her (he told me the royal is a she), he says he's with her in spirit. He was also made a warrior in the village. The most shocking Friend I have is Ashley. She is a freaking NOBLE and a fairy.
How I met her is quite funny. I was on my way home so I decided to pass through the green river. As I got to the green river, I heard someone screaming in the woods. I ran over and saw her: She had set her clothes on fire. I immediately dumped water on her. She was so embarrassed that a commoner(A.K.A me) had seen her set herself on fire. But after a while, we continued to see each other every day as I started passing the green river. She is also the one who had persuaded her friend, the wind noble, to give me a job.
Anyways, back to the story. The three of them grabbed me into a tight hug ( they do this every day). I also noticed that they are extremely protective of me especially Mike and James but I guess it has to do with them being born-protectors. The two of them collected the baskets I was holding which contained my weaving and pies. It actually annoys me when they do that because I feel embarrassed like I'm taking advantage of them.
''Morning princess'', Mike said with a splitting smile knowing I hate being called princess.
''Shut up.'' I said as I rolled my eyes with a smile, ''' morning guys''
We exchanged pleasantries and continued to walk towards my stall. By the way, any time Ashley comes to the village, she dresses like me so no one will recognize her as a noble.
''So, how's Star? Have you been seeing her?'' She asked. Okay, so the three of them are aware of my relationship with Star after they saw us together a month ago

Flashback to a month ago.
It was very late at night and I was returning from a customer's house ( I seriously don't know why she couldn't wait till the next morning!!!! *roll eyes*). She had a complaint about one of my weaving, it didn't fit her anymore and she wants a different type of stitching on it. I told her to wait till the next morning so she can buy a new one, but she insisted on fixing that old one since she wants to wear it to an elf's meeting the next morning ( why couldn't she have told me earlier on????). Anyways, I had to remove the old weaves, weave it again while using a different stitch that night!!.
When I finished, it was already very dark and I was scared because during it dark is when the dark creatures lurk like the zombies. As I was going, I heard the sound of hooves behind and when I turned, it was Star, I was delighted. I got on her back and she began to fly towards my house, unknown to us that my three friends were waiting for me ( why exactly they came so late, I still don't know). As I got down from her back, I turned and met the shocked faces of my friends. So, I ended up telling them how I met Star and how long we have known each other. They promised not to tell anyone and it remained our little secret.

Once we got to my stall, the boys began to set everything up, while I decided to clean the area. Ashley helped in arranging the pies neatly on the display wood. Soon after everything was set up, customers began to arrive. One of my favourite customers, Angel, wanted me to help her weave a long dress that covers her hooves (she's a satyr). She brought the design she wanted and we began to discuss things that should be added or removed. She said it's her wedding dress, so she wanted it long and puffy like a princess gown. As we were discussing, Ashley was selling woven dresses to people and the boys were showing the men around the male section.
When Angel and I were finished talking about her dress, she left. Just as she left, Michelle entered. Michelle is a Fae. She is like the Barbie of the village. She is the girlfriend to one of the Nobles so she is very annoying and sassy. She basically picks on me a lot for a reason I don't understand.
'' what do you want Michelle?'', I asked
'' what do you mean? Why else do people come to your stall?'' She snapped.
She picked up two beautiful weaved dresses I just completed, threw the money at me and left. Ashley was about to go after her, but James held her.
''I don't really know what she hates about me. I mean we are both commoners'' I said
'' she's just jealous of you'' James said
''Jealous? '' I asked surprised.
'' Duh. She's dating a noble yet no one likes or respects her. While you sell weaving and pies and work as a maid, yet the villagers still love you:' Ashley said as she hugged me.
''Let's not let her ruin the mood. Get back to work everyone'' Mike said mockingly as we all laughed.
