Asher's POV:

"Sorry I'm late", I heard her panting voice from behind me. I turned around and right there behind me, was the girl I haven't being able to take my mind off. She was still as beautiful as I remember, although she still had her veil over her head. She was dressed in a simple pale yellow dress, she had a black cloak over her head and face. In her hand, she held a hand weaving bag made from gran leaves. Coming out of the bag was a very delicious and tantalizing scent. I looked at her over and saw that she was still panting. She must have run all the way here.
"It's fine. We were just about to leave", Steve said.
"Why were you late, though?", Collins asked her.
She sat on the floor and took off her veil. My breath was caught in my throat. Her beauty is still so memorizing, I can hardly take my eyes off her, "James and Mike refused to leave earlier. They insisted on spending the night. I was trying to convince them to leave that's why I arrived so late", she said.
"They sound very protective", Aiden pointed out.
"Oh, they are. I can hardly step out of the house without them hovering around me", she said with a fond smile on her face that drove me mad with jealousy.
"Isn't it frustrating?", I asked, trying to see how she feels about them, while Steve, Collins and Aiden smirked like they knew what I was doing.
"Oh, it used to be so frustrating and annoying, but I have gotten used to it. It feels weird when they are not around. It even feels weird being here with you guys without them. I feel kinda exposed", she said as she looked at me. "Anyways, have you guys eaten? I baked these pies earlier today at work and I had these leftovers. I thought you guys will like to try it", she said as she brought out the pies from the bag she was holding.
"So that's what has been smelling so good", Aiden said as he went towards her. He took a bite and moaned out. "This is delicious. I have never tasted any pie like this. What flavour is it?", he asked as Steve and Collins also had a bite, they also moaned out.
"Thanks. It's blue leaves pie. I made up the recipe", she said, "I also used water from the blue river to spice up the taste."
"Blue river?", Collins asked surprisingly, we didn't know the water from the blue river can be used to cook.
"Yes. It has other uses besides healing minor injuries. It actually makes dishes very delicious when you use it." She said confidently as she handed me a slice of the pie.
"How were you able to figure that out?"< Aiden asked as he took yet another slice.
"I wanted to bake a cake for Mike and I decided to experiment. Fortunately, it turned out well", she said with a huge smile as she remembered the memory, meanwhile, she was completely oblivious to my fisted fists and jealous gaze.
What is wrong with me? Since when did I begin to get jealous? I am not the jealous type. I have everything I want or need. Why am I even jealous of people I have not even met yet? Why am I developing feelings for her when I don't even know her that well? What is that I am feeling?
"Asher?", her soft voice snapped me out of my daze. I looked at her and noticed that they were all staring at me.
"Yeah?", I responded.
"Are you okay?", she asked softly.
"Yeah, sorry my mind was pretty occupied", I explained.
"Oh, okay. I said when are you guys planning on returning to your kingdom?". she enquired. I looked at Steve, Collins and Aiden for a quick lie. "I mean, you guys said you only came for business yesterday, so I thought you'd be returning today but you are still here"
"Um, we plan on staying for a bit. Williams said he could get us little jobs for us to do before we have to return", Aiden lied as he looked at me with an encouraging and k owing smile. He was doing this for me.
"Really?", she asked excitedly, as she looked at me with hope in her eyes.
"Yeah. This kingdom is quite fascinating. It is a little better than our kingdom and it is more lively, unlike our kingdom in which wherever you look, you will see water", I said. could she possibly be feeling the same way towards me?
"Is it that bad? I have always wanted to visit The Fish kingdom. I want to see how it is over there since it's one of the places I am thinking of moving to in a couple of months." she said
"You are moving?", I asked startled, I just met her. I can't lose her yet.
"Probably, I'm not sure yet. Many people move from their kingdoms to different kingdoms once they are of age", she said.
"Why do you need to move? It's perfect over here. We are even thinking of moving here permanently", Aiden input.
She looked up at the sky, the green moon reflecting on her beautiful face, "there's nothing for me here. I have never felt like this is my home even though I practically grew up here".
"What do you mean?", Collins asked curiously.
She looked down at us, "Do you know why most people leave their original kingdom?"
"Love, adventure, explore, freedom etc", Steve said.
"Those are the reasons I want to move. I have been here for almost eighteen years, yet I have never loved anyone. I guess the one I am meant to love isn't here. I also want to explore.", she said without her knowing what she is making me feel.
I turned towards her and held her hands as I looked into her beautiful pink eyes, "That's the reason I want to move here too. I believe I will fall in love with someone here."
We kept staring at each other, completely forgetting we weren't alone. I just wanted to pull her into my arms and kiss her senseless. I wonder what her lips against mine will feel like. Suddenly, we all felt a presence appear. We turned and saw Star coming towards us.
"Go home", she said to Beverly.
"Why?", I asked.
"Your bodyguards are on their way to your house", she said to Beverly.
"s**t. I have to go. They will flip if they don't meet me." she said as she picked up her cloak and bag, then got on Star's back.
"Wait", I said as I held her hand, "will I see you again?"
She bit her lips, "when?"
"Tomorrow", the four of us said as Star fell away with her holding on tight.
