CHAPTER 10: PREPARING FOR THE NEW ADDITION
As the news of Alissa's pregnancy spread, Shawn and Alissa's friends and family were overjoyed. They had always known that Shawn and Alissa were meant to be, and now they were starting a beautiful family together.
As Alissa's belly began to grow, Shawn and Alissa started preparing for the new addition to their family. They read up on parenting books, attended parenting classes, and started decorating the nursery.
Jack was excited to become a big brother, and he would often talk to Alissa's belly, telling the baby all about the fun things they would do together.
Shawn and Alissa were grateful for Jack's enthusiasm, and they knew that he would make a great big brother.
One day, as they were out shopping for baby supplies, Shawn turned to Alissa with a thoughtful expression. "You know, I've been thinking," he said.
Alissa raised an eyebrow, curious. "What about?" she asked.
Shawn smiled. "I think it's time we started thinking about our future as a family of four," he said.
Alissa nodded, intrigued. "What do you mean?" she asked...
Shawn's eyes sparkled with excitement. "I mean, we're going to have two kids now, and we need to think about how that's going to change our lives," he said.
Alissa nodded, smiling. "I know what you mean," she said. "We'll need to adjust our schedules, our budget, and our living arrangements."
Shawn nodded. "Exactly," he said. "And I think we should start making some plans for the future."
Alissa raised an eyebrow, curious. "What kind of plans?" she asked.
Shawn smiled. "Well, for starters, I think we should start looking for a bigger house," he said.
Alissa's eyes widened in surprise. "A bigger house?" she repeated.
Shawn nodded. "Yes, a bigger house," he said. "We'll need more space for the kids, and for us to have some quiet time to ourselves."
Alissa thought about it for a moment, and then she nodded. "You're right," she said. "We do need more space."
Shawn grinned, relieved. "I'm glad you agree," he said.
As they continued shopping for baby supplies, Shawn and Alissa couldn't help but feel excited about their future as a family of four...
Over the next few weeks, Shawn and Alissa started house hunting. They looked at several different houses, but none of them seemed quite right.
One day, as they were driving through a beautiful neighborhood, Alissa spotted a house that caught her eye. "Shawn, look!" she exclaimed, pointing to a beautiful two-story house with a big front yard.
Shawn pulled over and they got out to take a closer look. The house was perfect - it had four bedrooms, a big backyard, and a beautiful porch.
Alissa's eyes sparkled as she looked at Shawn. "This is it," she said. "This is our dream house."
Shawn grinned, nodding in agreement. "I know, right?" he said. "I can totally see us living here."
They called their real estate agent and scheduled a viewing for the next day. As they walked through the house, they both knew that this was the one.
They made an offer on the house, and a few days later, they received the news that their offer had been accepted.
Shawn and Alissa were over the moon with excitement. They had found their dream house, and they couldn't wait to start their new life there...
As they were celebrating, Alissa suddenly felt a kick from the baby. She smiled, rubbing her belly. "I think the baby approves of our new house," she said.
Shawn grinned, putting his hand on her belly. "I think you're right," he said.
And as they stood there, holding hands and looking at their new house, Shawn and Alissa both knew that this was just the beginning of their happy ever after...
As they were celebrating, Shawn's phone rang. He answered it, and his face lit up with a smile. "That was the real estate agent," he said to Alissa. "She said that the sellers are willing to negotiate on the price."
Alissa's eyes widened in excitement. "That's great news!" she exclaimed.
Shawn nodded, grinning. "I know, right? We might be able to get an even better deal on the house."
Alissa smiled, feeling happy and relieved. She had been a little worried about the price of the house, but now it seemed like they might be able to afford it after all.
Over the next few days, Shawn and Alissa negotiated with the sellers, and eventually they were able to agree on a price. They signed the papers, and the house was officially theirs.
As they walked out of the real estate agent's office, Shawn turned to Alissa with a big smile. "We did it," he said. "We bought our dream house."
Alissa grinned, feeling happy and excited. "We sure did," she said...
As they walked back to their car, Shawn put his arm around Alissa's shoulders. "You know, I was thinking," he said.
Alissa looked up at him curiously. "What about?" she asked.
Shawn smiled. "I think we should have a housewarming party to celebrate our new home," he said.
Alissa's eyes lit up with excitement. "That's a great idea!" she exclaimed.
Shawn nodded. "I was thinking we could invite all of our friends and family, and have a big barbecue in the backyard," he said.
Alissa grinned. "That sounds perfect," she said.
Over the next few weeks, Shawn and Alissa worked tirelessly to get their new house ready for the party. They unpacked boxes, painted walls, and decorated the rooms.
Finally, the day of the party arrived. Shawn and Alissa were up early, preparing for the big event. They set up tables and chairs in the backyard, and started cooking up a storm in the kitchen.
As the guests began to arrive, Shawn and Alissa greeted them with big smiles. They were so happy to be sharing their new home with the people they loved...
As the party went on, Shawn and Alissa's backyard was filled with laughter and music. Jack was running around, playing with his friends, and Alissa's belly was getting plenty of attention from their guests.
Shawn's family was there, and they were all oohing and ahhing over Alissa's pregnancy. Shawn's mom was beaming with pride, and his dad was grilling up a storm on the barbecue.
Alissa's friends from work were also there, and they were all chatting and laughing together. Alissa was happy to see that everyone was having such a great time.
As the day went on, Shawn and Alissa took a break from hosting duties to sit down and enjoy some food together. They sat on the porch swing, watching their guests mingle and have fun.
Shawn put his arm around Alissa and pulled her close. "I'm so happy we're doing this," he said, gesturing to their new home and their friends and family.
Alissa smiled and leaned into him. "Me too," she said. "I feel like we're really starting our new life together."
Shawn nodded, his eyes shining with love and happiness. "We are," he said. "And I couldn't be more excited to see what the future holds for us."
As they sat there together, watching the sun begin to set, Shawn and Alissa both knew that they were exactly where they were meant to be...
As the sun dipped below the horizon, Shawn and Alissa's backyard was bathed in a warm, golden light. The party was still in full swing, with music and laughter filling the air.
Shawn and Alissa sat on the porch swing, watching their friends and family have fun. They were both feeling happy and content, enjoying each other's company and the celebration of their new home.
As they sat there, Shawn suddenly turned to Alissa with a mischievous grin. "You know what would be perfect right now?" he asked.
Alissa raised an eyebrow, curious. "What's that?" she asked.
Shawn's grin grew wider. "A dance party," he said.
Alissa laughed. "A dance party?" she repeated.
Shawn nodded. "Yes, a dance party. We've got the music, we've got the lights, and we've got the perfect excuse to let loose and have fun."
Alissa couldn't resist Shawn's infectious enthusiasm. She nodded, and Shawn jumped up from the porch swing, pulling her up with him.
Together, they danced into the night, surrounded by their friends and family, and the music and laughter of their perfect party...
As the night wore on, the dance party only got more energetic. Shawn and Alissa were having the time of their lives, laughing and spinning to the music.
Jack, who had been running around with his friends all day, finally started to wind down. Shawn scooped him up in a big hug and started dancing with him.
Alissa smiled, watching her two favorite guys have so much fun together. She felt grateful for this little family of theirs, and for the love and joy that they shared.
As the party began to wind down, Shawn and Alissa said their goodbyes to their friends and family. They were both exhausted but happy, with big smiles on their faces.
As they walked back into their new home, Shawn turned to Alissa with a romantic glint in his eye. "You know what would be the perfect ending to this perfect day?" he asked.
Alissa raised an eyebrow, curious. "What's that?" she asked.
Shawn smiled, pulling her close. "A romantic night in, just the two of us," he whispered.
Alissa's heart skipped a beat as she smiled up at Shawn. "That sounds perfect," she said...
Shawn and Alissa spent the rest of the evening enjoying each other's company. They ordered takeout, watched a movie, and just relaxed together.
As the night wore on, they found themselves getting more and more cozy. They cuddled up on the couch, watching the stars twinkling outside through the big windows.
Shawn put his arm around Alissa, pulling her close. "I'm so grateful for this life we're building together," he said, his voice filled with emotion.
Alissa smiled, feeling happy and content. "Me too," she said. "I love our little family."
Shawn nodded, his eyes shining with love. "Me too," he said. "And I love you."
Alissa's heart skipped a beat as she looked up at Shawn. "I love you too," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
As they sat there, wrapped in each other's arms, Shawn and Alissa both knew that they were exactly where they were meant to be...
As they sat there, Shawn suddenly had an idea. "You know what would be perfect right now?" he asked Alissa.
Alissa raised an eyebrow, curious. "What's that?" she asked.
Shawn grinned mischievously. "A surprise," he said.
Alissa's eyes sparkled with excitement. "What kind of surprise?" she asked.
Shawn just smiled and stood up, pulling Alissa to her feet. "Come with me," he said.
Alissa followed Shawn, curious about what he had planned. They walked through the house, and Shawn finally stopped in front of a door that Alissa hadn't noticed before.
Shawn opened the door, revealing a beautiful room that was filled with candles and flowers. In the center of the room, there was a beautiful piano, and Shawn walked over to it and started playing a romantic melody.
Alissa's eyes filled with tears as she listened to the beautiful music. She knew that Shawn had planned this special surprise just for her...
As Shawn played the piano, Alissa felt her heart overflowing with love and gratitude. She walked over to him, her eyes shining with tears, and put her hand on his shoulder.
Shawn looked up at her, his eyes filled with love and adoration. "I wanted to do something special for you," he said, his voice filled with emotion.
Alissa smiled, her heart full of joy. "You're always doing special things for me," she said. "I'm so lucky to have you in my life."
Shawn's face lit up with a warm smile. "I'm the lucky one," he said. "I love you, Alissa."
Alissa's heart skipped a beat as she looked into Shawn's eyes. "I love you too," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
As they stood there, wrapped in each other's love, Shawn and Alissa both knew that their bond would last a lifetime. And as they sealed their love with a tender kiss, the music of the piano faded into the background, leaving only the sound of their beating hearts...
