Before she could move, Kairos growled—a low, rumbling sound that sent a shiver down her spine. His fur bristled as he lowered himself to the ground, ready to strike. The electric man stood still, his cold eyes focused, his movements precise. But Kairos could sense it—the shift in energy, the flicker of unease. He didn’t need to think. His instincts took over.In an instant, Kairos launched himself forward, paws tearing through the dirt as he closed the distance with terrifying speed. The electric man tried to sidestep, but Kairos was quicker, his body a blur of muscle and fur. His jaws snapped at the man’s legs, teeth grazing fabric as the man stumbled back, unsteady for the first time.Kairos pressed his advantage, circling with calculated steps. His heart raced, not from fear, but from something deeper, something that coursed through his veins. The man’s movements were quick, almost jittery, but Kairos had him cornered, driving him toward the wall of trees behind them.The electric man swung his arm in a wild attempt to fend off the dog, but Kairos was relentless. He leaped again, teeth flashing in the dim light, catching the man’s arm in his jaws. The man cried out, yanking his arm free, but not before Kairos’s powerful bite left a deep gash. Blood dripped onto the ground as the man staggered back, his face twisting in pain.Kairos barked, a sharp, fierce sound, before darting in again. His paws hit the ground with precision, his eyes never leaving the man. He lunged, catching the man’s ankle this time, pulling him down with the force of his weight. The man hit the ground hard, gasping as he tried to scramble away.But Kairos was already on him. He snarled, snapping at the man’s flailing arms, not letting up for a second. Every movement was fueled by the fear and adrenaline in the air. The electric man was strong, but Kairos was relentless, his attack unyielding.But then, just as Kairos was about to clamp down for the final strike, something changed. The electric man’s body jerked violently, sparks flickering from his fingertips. Kairos flinched, instinctively retreating a step, his senses overwhelmed by the strange, sharp smell of electricity.The electric man used the moment of distraction to roll away, his body flickering as the last of the sparks danced across his skin. He scrambled to his feet, his face pale and slick with sweat. Without a second glance, he turned and bolted into the trees, disappearing into the shadows.Kairos barked again, his body vibrating with the rush of the chase. But as the electric man vanished, Kairos’s pace slowed. He stopped, his growls fading into the silence of the woods. The fight was over for now, the man had escaped, but the tension lingered in the air.Kairos stood still for a moment, his breath coming in heavy pants, eyes scanning the darkness. Then, with a low whine, he trotted back to her side.
