Chapter 5
“Thank you! Please come again!” Macey shouted to the young man who was headed out the door of her shop with a bouquet for his new wife in his arms. While he hadn’t been particularly attractive to Macey, he had seemed quite happy and in love, and it made pangs of jealousy well up inside of her. Until Mrs. Gregory made that silly remark last week, she’d been perfectly content with the life she’d been living, not at all worried about finding love or being alone. Now, it seemed like it was all she could think about. That, and a certain brown-eyed man who had an affinity for loud, bright lights and could be more than a little disagreeable about keeping it down.
But today, Macey chalked that obsession up to her search to try to get him to stop with the fireworks after a certain hour.
