Chapter 10
The sun was still shining brightly in the sky when Macey pulled into her driveway, though it was low on the horizon. Having finished the flowers for the wedding, she decided to call it a day earlier than normal, and she arrived home a little before 6:00, which was a record for the last few weeks.
Fluffy greeted her, and Macey went about fixing herself a light dinner. She wasn’t very hungry after the large lunch she’d had, but she found something to make anyway, out of habit more than anything else. It was sweltering outside, and she decided to ignore Fluffy’s request to go outside and play. If she wanted to run around, she’d have to do go out the doggy door into the backyard. Macey wasn’t going out again, at least not until the sun set and it cooled off a bit.
