Chapter 3 - A Spy

1299 Words
"So what was the teacher talking about the other time?" Alina asked Claire, who was lost in thought, not until Alina tapped her. "Oh yeah, what did you say?" Claire asks. "Is everything OK? Why are you lost in your world?" Alina asks. "It's nothing, Lina," Claire replies. "Oh, my God. Don't tell me you are thinking about your boyfriend," Alina teased. Immediately, Claire's reaction changed. "What did you mean by that, Lina? Did you expect me to be thinking about that at this early age?" Claire said calmly but with anger. "I'm sorry, I was just trying to play with you, but it seems I'm out of your league. I'm sorry, Miss Alexia." Alina said, bowing down and turning away from Claire. Claire regretted her actions immediately. She didn't mean to hurt her new friend; she was just angry about being accused of having a boyfriend, and now her new friend was mad at her. "I'm sorry, Lina; I don't like being accused of having a boyfriend." Claire pleads, but Alina refuses to reply; instead, she concentrates on the books she is arranging in her locker. "I'm sorry, Alina; you are not out of my league. I'm sorry, please don't stop being my friend. I promise not to be mean to you again. Claire said, not realising she was in tears. By this time, the class was already aware of what was going on between the two girls, and murmuring began among the students. "I know she can't have a friend," the first student said. "She is somehow proud," a second student said. "It seems like the new girl was mad at her," the first student said. "Of course she is proud because she is the daughter of Mr. Alexia, the CEO of the popular Mirae Group." 3rd student replies "She always put on a mask; did she think she was very beautiful for covering her face every time?" the second student said. "Maybe she is ugly; she may be putting on a mask in order not to spoil the Mirae group image. She doesn't want the title "The Ugly Face of the Mirae Group." " 3rd student replies "Here comes the ugly face of Mirae Group," the first student said in a mocking tone, which made everyone laugh, including Alina. Claire's world was torn apart when she saw Alina smiling; she was hurt to the bone. When she thought she had finally met her best friend, but she was wrong, her so-called friend joined hands in bullying her. She was crying under the mask while the murmuring continued. Mr. Lonnie, the principal of Sunshine High, was fond of checking around the school to ensure student safety and to catch some fools who lacked morals and proved to be stubborn and wayward. It was said that those rich kids always have the freedom to do anything they like since their parents are public figures, but Mr. Lonnie doesn't tolerate such things; he ensures that there is free treatment for the rich kids and the other kids. Thanks to him, Sunshine has been the best high school in the state, which is available for both average and rich kids. Mr. Lonnie was walking around as usual when he discovered some noise coming out from the JSS two block. He walked quietly without anyone in his presence, and he then discovered that it was Claire who was being bullied by her classmates. One thing Mr. Lonnie hated the most was bullying. No student is allowed to bully anyone in respect of their student status, not to mention Claire being bullied, the one and only daughter of the famous Alexia. Mr. Lonnie walked into the class and hit the table with his cane. The student quickly arranges themselves and sits down in their appropriate seat. Good..... Mr. Lonnie interrupted the student from greeting him. "Is this what you have been taught?! You are taught to bully your other mate, right?" Mr. Lonnie yells "No, sir," the student said fearfully. Claire was really sad; she could not control herself anymore. She carried her backpack and ran out of the class, leaving Mr. Lonnie with a surprise "So among you guys started this," Mr. Lonnie said with authority. The students were shaking. "You guys won't point out that the person isn't. How about I punish you people together? I think that will be interesting." "I start it first," Anabel said, raising her right hand. "Good of you, Anabel. I think you are the only one who caused this disaster, right?" Mr. Lonnie asked. "No, I wasn't the only one," Anabel replied with her hands shaking. "Who else or do you want me to point you out?" Mr. Lonnie yells No response from the student "Then let me point you guys out, and you will get double punishment." "I am there too," Janet said, standing up. "I'm also there," Bint said, also standing up. "So you guys were playing tricks with me before, right? Is that why you refuse to signify yourself?" Mr. Lonnie yelled at them. "No, sir," Janet and Bint said. "No problem; meet me in my office right now. You must explain what happened to the disciplinary council. "With this, Mr. Lonnie leaves the class while Anabel, Janet, and Bint follow. * * * * * Mr. Leo was surprised to see Claire's call when it wasn't yet time for the school to close. "Why are you outside, Mrs. Alexia?" Mr. Leo asks. "Take me home," Claire said with a shaky voice. "OK, miss," Mr. Leo said, looking confused by Claire's attitude. The drive home was silent; no one talked to each other, and Claire was sniffing every second. After the car was packed in the garage, Claire got out of the car and went directly to her room, locking the door. Mr. Leo was getting more worried about Claire's behaviour, and he informed Mr. Alexia immediately. Claire was crying all day; she felt so hurt by all that her classmates said to her. She felt like they hated her so much. Her thought was interrupted by the knock on her door, and it's no other person than her dad. "Princess, are you there?" Mr. Alexia said. He had to rush quickly from work after he received the call from Mr. Leo. "Can you hear me, little princess?" Mr. Alexia said, knocking on the door again. He begged Alexia to open the door but she did not respond. This shattered him completely. "When did you say she started crying?" Mr. Alexia asked after several attempts to make Claire open the door. "I think something happened in school," Mr. Leo replied and explained the bullying incident to Mr Alexia "I think I have to call the school or order it to be locked down," Mr. Alexia said with anger. Mr. Leo calmed his boss down, reminding him how his wife won't love it if her school was locked as she hates using power over people." "Then what did you expect me to do? I can't watch my daughter cry and leave her in that condition," Mr. Alexia asked. "It's okay, sir; let's wait for her to open up herself. Don't let us force her," Mr. Leo replied. "She hasn't eaten since morning, and you expect me to calm down. I'm worried" Mr. Alexia said, half yelling with tears. "Boss Alexia," Mr. Leo said. Mr Alexia Look at Mr. Leo because it has been awhile since he heard that name, which means he wanted to say something serious. "Speak up," Mr. Alexia said. "Instead of locking the school, what if we guide Mrs. Alexia instead?" Mr. Leo said. "As how, how can we guide her?" Mr. Alexia responded, showing interest in what he said. "We can get a spy." "A spy??" "Yes, Spy."
