Chapter 2: Between Fire and Sin

Yesha’s pulse thundered in her ears. She was trapped—caught between the two men who had shattered every rule she once lived by. Suno’s gaze burned into her, filled with unspoken words, while Roched leaned closer, his smirk sharp enough to cut. Her throat was dry, her body betraying her with every shaky breath. “Say something,” Suno’s voice was quiet, controlled—but she could hear the restraint beneath it, the storm waiting to break. Roched chuckled, running his fingers through his tousled hair. “She doesn’t need to, Suno. Look at her.” His eyes dragged over Yesha, slow and deliberate. “She’s already made her choice.” Yesha inhaled sharply. “Don’t act like you know me.” “Oh, but I do.” Roched’s lips barely brushed her ear as he whispered, “And I know you like this.” A shiver danced down her spine. Suno moved then, sudden and deliberate, grabbing Roched by the collar. “Enough,” he growled, his voice a dangerous edge of frustration. Roched only laughed, tilting his head, eyes flashing with amusement. “Touchy, aren’t we?” he mused. “What’s wrong, Suno? Afraid she’ll pick me?” Yesha’s stomach clenched. The weight of their rivalry pressed down on her like a vice. She stepped between them, placing a hand on Suno’s chest—steady, warm, familiar. “Stop this,” she pleaded, her voice softer now. “Both of you.” Roched’s smirk faltered just slightly. Suno’s jaw tightened. For a moment, silence stretched between them, thick and suffocating. Then, Roched exhaled, running a hand down his face. “Fine,” he muttered, stepping back. “But don’t pretend this is over, Yesha.” Suno turned to her, his gaze searching. “Are you okay?” Yesha’s lips parted, but she hesitated. Was she? Because deep down, in the depths of her heart, she knew—this wasn’t just a game anymore. It was war. And she was the prize.
