We managed to get back to camp alive. We've endured so much along the way. The person to greet us first was Arlo who helped us clean our wounds silently. He didn't speak and just attended to our needs. My fever has gone down, thankfully. Arlo gave us some water and food. He looked at the boy but didn't ask anything.  I turned to look at Selene's treehouse and felt that harrowing ache in my heart again.
