The last straw

It was another dream, no nightmare where I was running through the forrest bear feet, I could feel the twigs snapping under my feet, the sound of animals galloping away to safety, the terrified squealing of birds and sound of my heart beating irradically fast. With each thump it felt like I was falling deeper and deeper into this depth of darkness, it felt like I was drowning and breathing at the same time.

During these nightmares I could hear children screaming out my name for help but no matter how hard I ran i always wake up before I could find and save the children.

I woke up with a gasp for air and a fast beating heart.

"It felt s-so real" I stutterd with beads of sweat dripping down my face.

I swing the sheet from my sweat drenched body and checked the time.

"It's so damn early, why can't I sleep peacefully like everyone else- f**k!"

I hesitantly got up and walked to the shower wincing at the pain in my leg.

"At least I can shower peacefully without those dispicable things wake up" he whispered to himself

I did my business in the shower and got out. I used my hand to push my jet black hair out of my face. Now I can see my pale grey eyes. You see for a seventeen year old boy im not a big muscular guy like John cena, I have a little muscle here and there, but my face and personality makes up for the rest i guess. My eyes scan the rest of my body it was littered with scars and bruises, some were fading but the beating that I got last night opened up a few cuts. Now my had a pinkish purleish colour and let me tell you it is not a site to behold.

I sighed and looked at the ceiling, when will this stop? when will I have a normal life? when will I start living?

" Mom if your out there... somewhere, when are you coming home? you promised me, remember? please come back I need you..."

"JULIAN!!" screamed my uncle

"yes uncle!"

"get your ass out here and make breakfast, and if you make Kimberly or kadeen late you can kiss that bed goodbye!"

I hurried in my room and put on some dark blue jeans and a white t-shirt with my white vans and hurried down the stairs taking it two at a time.

"Morning jj" kadeen said smiling up at me.

"Good morning my favorite cous-"

" I thought I was your favorite cousin" Kimberly said with a glare.

"Oh kimmy dear kadeen is just so sweeter than you I had to switch" I said holding my hands up in surrender my smile never faltering.

"you better be glad that your birthday is Friday or else...." she said trailing off.

I placed the eggs and bacon in three plates

"Here is yours kim" I said

"Thanks" she said

"Favorite cuz" I said smirking

"Oh thanks jj" kadeen said laughing

"Hurry up guys, before your dad comes back" I said sighing and looking down. I felt something warm on my hand, so I looked up and I was met with Kim's soft eyes and a little smile.

"Everything is going to be fine j, you'll be eighteen friday, and you will finally be able to leave this hell hole." she said

"Thanks Kim, for a thirteen year old you are so good with 'cheer up' speaches." I said using air quotes for cheer up

" Oh don't be a sour puss j your just jealous" she said sticking out her tongue.

"come on guys if we don't leave now you'll be late and I really don't want to sleep on the floor"

"I hate Mondays" kadeen wines in the backseat of my run down mustang.

" who doesn't" kim replied

My cousins were looked so much alike at a first glance one would think they were twins, I mean they both had blond hair like really blond hair it's almost white, their chubby cheeks, heart shaped face and there sapphire blue eyes. The only difference is obviously kadeen is a boy and is two years younger than kim and kim is a tall girl for her age. She is all of 5 ft.

I stopped at a stop light because obviously the light was on red and on the pedestrian crossing was this man, an old chubby fellow with overgrown hair basically everywhere, but I could see his eyes clearly and he was staring right at me and it sent a cold shiver down my spine.

"Those eyes..." I said trailing off

Wait I Knew this guy, but I couldn't remember from where. I-I mean the answer is right on my tongue but it just not coming out.
