Chapter Seven- Jade
I struggled against the pressure in my chest. Knowing now that the witch was using me to house magic, I could feel it inside me, attempting to dig deeper into my bones. I’d woken long before we reached the witch’s destination, but I’d kept my eyes closed. The twigs dug and scratched into my skin, but I forced myself to lie still.
We were close to the cliffs. I could hear the sound of the sea below, and for a moment, I wondered if she planned on throwing me off the edge.
