The emergency shutters slammed down with deafening force.
Metal barriers crashed between the corridors in seconds, splitting the executive floor into sections while alarms erupted overhead.
Evelyn barely had time to react before Damian grabbed her hard and shoved her backward.
A steel shutter dropped directly in front of Lucas and Serena.
Separating them instantly.
“Lucas!” Evelyn shouted.
Lucas spun toward them sharply just as the final barrier crashed into place between the groups.
The sound echoed violently through the luxury hallway.
Then silence.
Only the alarms remained.
And Richard Bennett’s calm voice drifting through hidden speakers.
“Interesting,” he mused softly. “Now we discover priorities.”
