Chapter 21
“DAMIAN!”
Evelyn’s scream tore through the storm.
The rooftop beneath him collapsed in a violent roar of concrete and steel, disappearing into smoke and darkness below. For one horrifying second, she saw nothing but debris falling into the alley far beneath the building.
Then Damian’s hand caught the edge.
Her breath slammed back into her lungs painfully.
He hung from the crumbling ledge with one arm, rain pouring over him while broken concrete continued crashing around him.
“Oh my God—”
Lucas grabbed Evelyn before she could rush forward recklessly.
“Careful!”
The neighboring rooftop shook violently beneath them too.
Serena fired another shot toward the attackers still climbing through the smoke behind the collapsing building.
“We need to move now!”
