Vanora couldn't stop thinking about her encounter with the king that morning, she turned happily as she layed on her bed, wondering if she would ever get the chance to see him upfront again. Lost in her own world,a knock distracted her as she stood up, took her candle and walked to get the door.Opening it,she was stunned to see Emelia her friend looking like she had been crying. "What is the matter" she inquired as she let Emelia into her bedroom. Sitting down, the girl continued to cry softly before opening her mouth to tell her what had transpired ."He broke up with me vanora,I kept asking him what I did wrong, but he refused to tell me" she said as she broke down again. "It's alright, Emelia you will be fine.Tomorrow,I will meet with him and have a word with him, alright." With that she advised her friend to return to her chambers, bidding her a good night rest. After making sure her friend had returned to her chambers,a thought flashed through vanora's mind as she hastily got dressed and followed her mind. Vanora's heart fluttered in her chest as she stood outside the grand chamber, her hands trembling with a mix of anticipation and anxiety. She had never dared to venture into the sacred realm of the king's presence before, but tonight, driven by an irresistible force, she couldn't resist the call. With a deep breath, she pushed open the towering doors and stepped into the opulent chamber. The air was heavy with the scent of polished wood and the faint flicker of candles. The grandeur of the room was awe-inspiring, but it paled in comparison to the figure seated upon the ornate throne at the far end. King ulthred the powerful ruler of Eldoria, sat with an air of regality, his piercing blue eyes fixed upon her. His presence commanded respect and reverence, and vanora couldn't help but feel a mixture of nervousness and fascination in his gaze. "Chambermaid" the king's voice resonated through the chamber, a gentle yet commanding tone that sent shivers down her spine. "What brings you to this sacred space? Speak, and speak swiftly." "It's vanora, your majesty. My name is vanora" she said trying to catch a glimpse of the king."very well then vanora ,what brings you here?". Vanora's heart raced, her words stumbling over each other as she found the courage to express the thoughts that had consumed her every waking moment. "Your Majesty, I beg your pardon for this intrusion. But there is a matter of great importance that weighs heavy on my heart." King ulthred regarded her intently, a slight furrow appearing between his brows. "Proceed, vanora. Do not keep me waiting." Summoning her resolve, she started "it's been 3 years since I was recommended here by my mistress countess Vivienne, and in those three years I have adored and loved someone deeply. To me it was love at first sight, but I do not know if he feels that way towards me". Confusion evident in his face as he stared at vanora intently, "do you realize I do not have time for this, and is this the reason you came into my chambers uninvited" the king inquired already getting angry.Vanora saw this and quickly confessed her deepest secret, the forbidden desires that had blossomed within her heart. She spoke of the admiration she held for the king, his kindness, and his unwavering commitment to his kingdom. She admitted her love, though she knew it was a love destined to be unrequited. As vanora poured her heart out, the room seemed to hold its breath. The tension between them was palpable, the weight of their forbidden connection hanging heavy in the air. She dared not meet the king's eyes, fearing his rejection or worse, his wrath. Silence engulfed the chamber as ulthred absorbed her words. Vanoras heart raced, her pulse pounding in her ears. She had crossed a line, risked everything for a love that could never be. Regret washed over her like a tidal wave, threatening to drown her in its depths. Finally, the king's voice broke the silence, his words a mix of intrigue and caution. "Vanora, your audacity is both surprising and intriguing. To confess such feelings to a man like me, knowing the boundaries that divide us, takes great courage. Yet, you must understand the complexities that lie within our positions." Vanora's heart sank, her hopes diminishing with every word he uttered. She had known deep down that her love for the king was impossible, but a part of her had held on to a flicker of hope, a glimmer of a different fate. "I appreciate your honesty, vanora," ulthred continued, his gaze unwavering. "However, we both know that our relationship can never go beyond what it is now.The fact that I am your king and you are just a maid." Tears welled up in vanora's eyes as the weight of his words settled upon her. She had gambled her heart, exposed her vulnerability, and now must pay the price. The regret gnawed at her soul, reminding her of the chasm between their worlds. "If I was in a bad mood I would have asked for your execution and probably ,hang your head at the entrance of the gate." Vanora became scared and quickly knelt in a bid to plead that her life be spared, but the king's next word shocked her to the core. The king had actually wanted a woman that night and seeing how the clueless maid had offered herself to him,he couldn't deny his burning desires. " The king's sudden change of heart thrilled her as she raised her head to see him hesitate, his brow furrowing as he wrestled with his own emotions. "Vanora," he said softly, his voice laced with desires,"But tonight, just for tonight," he murmured, his voice barely audible, "let us forget about the world outside these walls. Let us be consumed by the fire that burns between us." Vanora's heart skipped a beat, a glimmer of hope reigniting within her.Though she wasn't expecting him to say that, she knew he was implying that he lay with her.But she was ready to do anything to make the king love her and so she agreed. In that moment, she saw the conflict in the king's eyes, the battle between duty and desire. She nodded, unable to resist the allure of their connection, understanding that this momentary indulgence might be all she could ever have. The king stood from his chamber throne and walked towards her, gripping her by the waist. He kissed her passionately at first but as the hunger within him grew, his kiss became rough as he delved into the warmth of her mouth. She moaned softly as she let the man holding her take full possession of her body.In a swift moment her light dresses which she had on moments again, now layed on the floor,he carried her and layed her on his bed as he devoured her virgin body. The pain were unbearable for vanora as he penetrated her,a muffled scream tore from her mouth as tears welled up in her eyes.Soon her body matched his rhythm and all the pain that once took her body were replaced with pleasure. Their abominable act went on for a while as the king lost in the pleasure that her body gave him, found his release. His grunts,as he found his release were like music to her ears. Not wanting to let go,she held him passionately, wrapping her hands around his neck as she patted his dark hair that had a touch of gray to it. Seeing her gesture, made his demeanor change as he disentangled from her.Regrets and anger clouded his feature, his expression grew distant as he stared at the ceiling, his thoughts consumed by the weight of their actions. Vanora, looked at him with a mixture of vulnerability and hope. "Your majesty, I never expected this to happen, but I can't deny the depth of my feelings for you. I love you." The king's features hardened, and he turned his gaze away from her, avoiding her eyes. His voice laced with anger, he replied, "vanora, this was a mistake.I should never have allowed this to go this far. It changes nothing between us." Vanora's voice quivered with a touch of desperation. "But... Your majesty, what we shared felt real. I thought we had something special. I thought there was a chance for us." "Us" he scoffed as he stated, showing no sign of affection. "I regret getting this close to you" he said as his face turned cold. "Please" He clenched his jaw, his voice cold and detached. "Vanora, you're mistaken. This was nothing more than a momentary indulgence. It meant nothing to me, and it should mean nothing to you." Tears welled up in vanora's eyes as she tried to understand his sudden shift in attitude. "You're saying it meant nothing? That I meant nothing to you?" His anger flared, his words biting and dismissive. "Exactly. You're a chambermaid, Vanora. A mere distraction. You cannot pursue anything beyond this. The earlier you understand this, the better for you." This words hit her hard as her heart sank, the pain becoming unbearable. She turned away from him, fighting back tears. "I... I see. I won't trouble you any longer, Your Majesty." Vanora's heart shattered as the reality of their situation crashed down upon her. She nodded, her voice choked with unshed tears. "I understand, Your Majesty," she managed to whisper, her voice laced with sorrow. With a heavy heart, vanora gathered what little strength remained within her, dressed up and left the king's chambers. She retreated into the depths of her own solitude, vowing to bury her feelings for the king deep within her, to build a wall around her heart and move on with her life. That night vanora couldn't sleep as the event of the night kept replaying in her mind, how he had been so cold towards her and all the hurtful words he had told her that night. She just couldn't bear it all as she screamed using her pillow to keep the sounds from getting out, eventually, she cried her self to sleep. Waking up with a terrible pain in her head, vanora couldn't get up from her bed as she felt her whole body ache from last night.Soon her bedroom door opened and lady Lydia walked in,she wasn't smiling and so vanora realized the woman was angry. She gently got up to meet the woman's angry look, only to be met with a worried gaze. "Are you ok" the woman's once worried gaze soon dissipated, returning to her usual cold look. "I think I might have overworked myself, but I am fine" vanora said trying to stand but her legs failed her and she came crashing on the floor. "It's alright i will pardon you for today, get yourself treated as soon as possible" with that she left vanora's bedroom.
