Chapter Five

433 Words
Elenora POV I was floating in darkness but no longer in pain. What was going on? Did I finally die? I reached out for Lilith. I couldn’t find her. I succumbed completely to the darkness once more.   Titan POV Jericho and I were meeting in Alpha’s office.   “She is hurt pretty bad, but she is healing as expected for a wolf. There was no internal bleeding which the doctor couldn’t believe with the extent of her injuries. She should be able to be discharged in three days. The doctor will wean her off sedation tomorrow, but he wants her to rest tonight. Do you know any more about what happened? Any other sightings?”   “No more sightings. I have been staying in close contact with the head of the warriors and there has been nothing. I wonder if she was attacked by another rogue. You know how they can get.”   Jericho nodded and ran his hands through his hair. “What are we going to do with her after?”   “That isn’t up to us. Alpha can make that decision. Let’s mindlink him and you can fill him in on everything.”   I extended a mindlink to Jericho then Leviathan. He accepted and Jericho explained the situation. Leviathan was silent for a second then said something surprising. When she is discharged, she will be escorted back to our border. “There is no telling why she was banished from her pack. Get whatever information from her that she will give you then leave her be. This doesn’t seem to be an attack against us but keep the double patrols until she is gone. While she is in the pack lands, she is to be assured safety just like the rest of the pack.” Jericho and I said in unison “Yes Alpha.” He then shut the link.   I looked at Jericho, not believing it. “I was sure he would extend an invitation to stay and heal completely.”   Jericho shrugged his shoulders. “He wants to ensure the pack doesn’t come into harm. She could have been banished from her pack for who knows what.”   “But what if she decided to leave her pack and was not banished.”   “Why would you leave your pack voluntarily to become a rogue. Leave the safety and family your pack provides. I don’t believe it.”   I could see Jericho’s point, but I still felt for the girl. She was so slight and so hurt when I saw her last. It was the Alpha’s decision though and I would honor it. I shooed Jericho to get to his day to day responsibilities while I took care of mine. Tomorrow we would go and question the girl.
