Chapter Sixteen

Elenora POV

I wasn’t paying attention to where we were going. I was enjoying his arms around me and his scent washing over me. I knew it would be torture for me later, but I couldn’t deny myself this slice of heaven as long as I was allowed it. He opened the door to a room and placed me on the bed. When he let go of me the fear returned. I know what mates did, but was he expecting us to do that? I started to shake until he dropped down in front of me. His hand lifted my chin to look him in the eyes. “We aren’t going to do what you are thinking. I may not know what happened, but I can tell you are not ready for that. I just didn’t want you to fall again. I am going to send our Beta Female in to help you shower. Her name is Chandra.” I nodded immediately calming down. His presence made me feel so safe, which didn’t make sense. He was a man, eventually they all hurt you. I watched his eyes cloud then clear up. “She’ll be here soon.” I nodded once more, afraid to ask how he knew that and why his eyes clouded over. Father refused to speak about life in the pack unless it was to talk about how weak and how stupid they were. I watched him walk out of the room, surprised by the desire I felt inside. I wanted to touch him all over. I wanted him inside me.

He was gone, but I gasped out loud. I had never desired anyone before. No man had ever made me feel that. Lilith purred in my head. “He was made for you.” I swallowed, afraid of what that meant. I didn’t have long to wallow in my thoughts before a knock on the door came. I looked toward it, but no one came in. Finally, a woman opened the door. I could already tell she was a forced to be reckoned with. “You know, when someone knocks on their door, they are waiting for you to say come in.” She smiled. I looked down and blushed. “Sorry.” I heard her walking away from me. “It’s ok. Titan filled me in somewhat. You didn’t know. Now, have you ever had a shower before?” I shook my head. “I just bathe in rivers.” She smiled and gently grabbed my arm to help me walk to the bathroom. “You are in for a treat!”
